Excited to see the start of the next season. Really hoping that the offense comes to life while the revamped defense - especially at LB - continues to lead the team!

Nice class! Eight JUCO players. So you're gonna be restocking again soon. Just wanted to check in. Looking forward to the next one.

        Great stuff once again sir.
Well, we'll be seeing plenty of both Pruitt and McGill in this dynasty. We face the Irish this year and next year, and of course we face Bama every year. It'll be interesting to see what type of impacts they have.

I am less concerned about my corners; while no one is spectacular, I seem to have gotten by with players of this caliber at the CB position just fine, especially since I usually recruit players with good MCV ratings. Speed is an issue, but I am confident that these guys can cover with the best of them.

The problem area for me will be safety, I believe. I am already having nightmares about Terrell Faulk with his 81 speed being beaten by deep passes over-the-top, something that seems to happen anytime he gets into the lineup -

Thanks brother...the season is almost here. I've been getting some lab work done on my new offensive playbook the past few days, learning what works and what doesn't, as well as the different packages.

It's been about a month since I've last played a game, so I am itching to get things started soon. The fact that we start the year versus an Auburn team that upset us last year has me pretty hyped!

Thanks man. Yeah, at the end of recruiting, I was kind of surprised by how many JUCO guys I ended up with. I didn't really count them up as I was getting them, but in the end I was like "whoa, I signed 8 of these guys?!"

Oh well, hopefully some of them pan-out for us. I think the guard Tyson Cochran and the middle linebacker Joey Rodgers both have a chance to see some early P.T.

          Green Wave Off-Season News Clips

Brown Jr.'s practice reps in the slot and out wide have gone way up during spring practice.

Tulane | RB Michael Brown Jr. seeing more WR reps
          Wed, 2 Apr 2025 13:10:01 -0700

          report courtesy Meghan Kluth, TulaneInsider.com

Meghan Kluth of TulaneInsider.com reports that sophomore RB Michael Brown Jr., a player that new Tulane offensive coordinator Joe Roberts says has "the best hands on the team," will be seeing a significant increase in his usage as a pass receiver in 2025.

Brown Jr., who led all Green Wave receivers last fall with 65 receptions, has seen an increased role in the passing game, operating as both a receiver out of the backfield as well as playing in the slot when the team deploys multiple receiver sets.

"We want to continue to find ways to get Mike the football. He's the ultimate possession guy, and I feel like we didn't do a good enough job featuring him as a pass catcher last year," said Roberts.

"I want to see him not only catch more passes, but catch more passes downfield. He will still be listed as a running back and see a lot of snaps from the tailback position, but his primary function will be to catch passes and keep the chains moving."

Tulane | Tulane announces football contracts with Oklahoma and UCLA
          Tue, 20 May 2025 13:10:06 -0700

report courtesy Taylor Bisciotti, ESPN/SEC Network

Taylor Bisciotti of ESPN's SEC Network reports that Tulane University announced on Tuesday that the school has entered into football scheduling contracts with both Oklahoma University and UCLA.

The Green Wave will face the Bruins in 2026 on the road and will host them at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in 2027. Likewise, the Wave will face the Sooners on the road in 2027 at Norman, and will make host them in New Orleans in 2028. Tulane has never met either Oklahoma or UCLA in football.

The announcement rounds out Tulane's out-of-conference schedules for each of the next two seasons (dates and times will be released at a later date):

          Tulane Future Out-of-Conference Schedules

2025: @ Notre Dame, Ohio St., @ Southern Miss, TCU

2026: Notre Dame, @ Ohio St., Southern Miss, @ UCLA

2027: @ Oklahoma, @ Southern Miss, UCLA (1 remaining opening)

2028: Oklahoma, Southern Miss (2 remaining openings)

D.J. Mannie Fresh, a local and national icon, hopes to help bring more New Orleans flavor to Tulane games next fall.

Tulane | Mannie Fresh hired as official team D.J.
          Tue, 8 Jul 2024 13:35:04 -0700

          report courtesy Eve Jewell, TulaneInsider.com

Eve Jewell of TulaneInsider.com reports that one year after the school added the Rebirth Brass Band to its in-game entertainment, Tulane fans in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome are in for an even greater treat next season, as the school has signed local and world-renown rapper, record producer and D.J. Mannie Fresh to perform during Tulane football games starting next fall. The former member of the Big Tymers is expected to play a flavor-filled mix of instrumental versions of his music hits from his time with Cash Money Records, as well as other popular New Orleans rap and bounce hits.

"Mannie literally lives around the corner from my house," said Tulane head coach D. Geezy. One day, we ran into each other at Smoothie King and I brought it up kind of jokingly about him playing at our games, and he said 'Hey, I'm down with that,' and the rest was history."

"Last year was a big step with Rebirth Brass Band and us playing a little bit of hip-hop, but now Mannie will be turning it up 20 notches," Geezy continued. "With both Mannie and Rebirth, no other college football stadium will be as unique as Tulane's."

After seeing a dip in average attendance in 2023, down to 65,533 attendees per game, the Wave saw attendance rise up to 69,647 in 2024. The team hopes the addition of Mannie Fresh will help put attendance back over 70,000, which has only happened twice in school history, in 2021 and 2022.

Editor's Note: So I actually do live in the same neighborhood as Mannie Fresh, and actually did run into him at Smoothie King. In fact, Geezy Jr. actually goes to high school with his daughter...Anyway, just like last time, this is just my in-universe explanation for the fact that I will be adding about 50 new songs to my Custom Sounds play list, 90% of which are instrumental versions old Cash Money hits by Juvenile, B.G., Lil' Wayne, the Big Tymers, and the Hot Boys. In addition to my New Orleans flavored band music that plays after first downs, sacks, and touchdowns, these Cash Money hits will play during timeouts, changes of possession, end of third quarter, etc. Again, I know this doesn't do much for my readers, but you can imagine just how "turnt up" my games are these days.

Getting TURNT UP! Lol love the idea bro. So I was wondering, how do you decide which teams you will sign scheduling contracts with? I’m always intrigued by other reporters routines and such.

The out of conference schedule will continue to test you year in and year out. Also love that you're still working with the custom stadium sounds. I've never gotten around to trying them out but I know I'm missing out!

Yes sir...this is actually my second season using custom sounds. It is somewhat of a hassle, having to buy old school blank discs, burn music onto them, rip the discs onto the XBOX hard drive, then figure out what songs go onto the playlist for which situations...but it is well worth it if you have a couple of hours to waste on a November Saturday while your wife is getting her hair done!

Thanks man. There's so many different teams in this game and so many options. I've had my eye on a few teams for down the road, Oregon being one of them. I'd also like to visit the Big House some day to face the Wolverines, but who knows what my mindset will be like by the time I decide to commit.

Honestly, there's no exact method to my madness as far as my scheduling. Really, these latest two (UCLA and OU) was just a matter of me watching a few of their games in real life this year and liking their stadium atmosphere and fight songs. I looked at how they were doing in my dynasty and they both look like good teams that will bring a challenge to me, so I decided to go ahead and "sign the deals" with them.

I like doing the future contracts thing just to mirror real life and I also like the fact that I am locked-in with an opponent, for better or for worse.

As I was telling Thugger, it is very much worth the time and effort. I can't express enough just how much this Custom Sounds feature has added to this game for me. To hear famous New Orleans band music after big plays or Ludacris' "Move *****" after turnovers or Mystikal after a big sack.

Or how about this as the defense comes to the line of scrimmage for a big third down? Down for my n's

I'm getting hyped just thinking about our first home game!

Solid recruiting class despite the number of JUCO players.

I like that you guys are bringing Mannie Fresh in there.

Very excited to see how this offense looks on the field. Speed kills and it’s been a while since we have seen a dynamic offense in Tulane. I think with Lawson and Brady on the outside and Brown working the slot McBride could be in for a big year! That schedule is no joke and has to be rated an A+ I imagine.
