Let's call this camera "Dynamic Offset."
Alright, I uploaded a video right now with the same visuals (when watching the video press 2 for Gordon, 5 for Yelich, and 9 for Bour), but below are photo examples with vertical guidelines.
Although not really fitting because of the players involved (Gordon now with Seattle and Yelich with Milwaukee, plus not really the right lineup order), I wanted to show how the Vision attribute could be tweaked to accommodate hitter ability versus certain pitchers, specifically their handedness.
Dee Gordon is essentially as good against lefties as he is against righties, and the camera reflects so that a pitch "down the middle" comes down a nearly straight line in the center of your screen against either hand (this could obviously be tweaked if one deems he is not
this perfect against either hand, but he is a .300+ career hitter either who doesn't strike out much so I'll take this for the sake of the example).
Christian Yelich is very decent against left-handed hitters, but certainly a little better against righties (which would then probably appear much like Gordon's right now). As for lefties though, he is probably somewhere in between Gordon and somebody who is just "fair" against lefties (angle would then probably be aligned dead center, so Yelich is slightly tilted in his favor). His power is diminished against lefties though, and other attributes would kick into play to remedy that.
Justin Bour is not good against left-handed pitchers. He improved slightly when Barry Bonds was around instructing him, but he never quite found his stride. This one is going to be way off-tilt that works against him, especially for outside pitches where lefties are most susceptible to opening up against and chasing for the worse.
These three hitters may have similar camera views to each other when facing a right-handed pitcher. I believe Gordon would still have the best vision and Bour would have the worst just because of the nature of their abilities that we have seen the past several years, but they would all be tilted in their favor rather than not.
All this being said, I did not consider the pitcher on the other side (Bumgarner), and if somebody is actually a specialist against lefties then that should work as a part of it as well. So maybe if a lefty pitcher dominates lefty hitters and if a left hitter dominates lefty pitchers, then this would possibly offset so the camera is smack-dab center.
Maybe just make it a formula, where it is a subtraction thing. The amount of camera swivels from -100 to 100, with 0 being in the center, 100 being in favor of the hitter and -100 being in favor of the pitcher. As the Vision (vs. LHP) and Vision (vs. RHP) attributes are provided for hitters and the pitcher has their own vs. LHB & vs. RHB attribute (I forget what it is called), you can take the 0-100 scale on those and subtract 50 to make the range -50 to 50, and then do Hitter minus Pitcher attributes and you get a value (I think I'd rather weigh the hitter's attribute a little more favorably though, because I think the hitter matters more than the pitcher in this case personally). That is what determines where the camera sits.
This would give certain hitters a fairer shake, specifically switch-hitters (though if you set up the camera on the inside, this should already be working for them). This may be a little better to put in user control when there is actually a user IN control in these cases, as it would make more sense when you're Hunter Pence against righties whiffing at the slider whereas a Buster Posey may be holding up.
