    Author Note

Things have gotten REAL once again, I graduate at the end of the year but until then things are just nuts. However, I love this team and this game enough to adjust some things to make it a little easier to do. The newspaper stuff was fun and I loved the look, but it was a bit on the time consuming side!

So we're going to role play. You, dear reader, have moved away from home for awhile and can no longer read the paper every day! Instead you're going to have to tune in online and read more simple reports. I will still try and keep some detail in the writing but fewer blow-by-blow writeups, which will probably be for the better anyway. Game previews will virtually go out the window, other than a very quick overview here or there.

Around the NCAA reports will become more sparse, although I want to continue Big Ten coverage in some form or fashion. The Big Ten angle is my favorite thing about this dynasty at the present.

Thanks for tuning in, and BIG thanks for being patient with my crappiness as a reader/follower. I hope to have everything quiet down to where I can read a few different dynasties concurrently like I used to and actually retain the info.

About the new reports. People have noted I do a lot in Excel before, well now the reports will be one quick copy and paste from Excel once they're done, as an image, to put on the page here. No gathering different things from different files, just type it up insert a couple of images and go.

Coach Clark can't be too mad, they did have to throw it 52 times and completely abandon the run game to get to 300 yards passing. His secondary must have been fatigued

I like the new concept. I have always felt that when life gets too busy, it's best to just scale things down. If you try to do too much and it becomes too much of a burden, that's when guys quit.

Awesome start to the season. Those 20-17 slugfests don't come around as often as we'd like. I am quite impressed with Eddie Allen so far this season. That rushing performance in game 1 was Vince Young-esque.

Those rainy pictures in game 2 came out very well. My favorite shot is the one where the coaches are talking. In hindsight, I wish I had bought this version of NCAA just to take more pics of Coach Geezy on the sideline for my NCAA '11 project.

Great stuff Hellisan. You still remain a king at this dynasty ish.

Secondary was definitely fatigued. I thought this pass defense was going to be awesome. The second Kory Walker went down things just stopped working defensively and they haven't come back. It's going to be difficult hanging in there for 10 weeks without our stud SS.

Kory Walker last year: 103 tackles, 13 TFL, 5 sacks, 1 INT, 5 deflections, 1 FF

Great point man, had to make it work for me. What I was doing before was going to word to type the story, excel to do the box score, and then photo shop to tie it all together - even my game previews were a chore, now I just do it all in one place and that's that. I like Allen and I think with Adding Doug Durbin to the offense, he's going to have a place to go with the football. We'll see how Durbin plays. Oklahoma State had all the answers for him in the run game, he would have an alley on a keeper and they just managed to fill and enclose, and it turned into a 6-yard gain then they'd stuff him the next time. Incredible effort by Oklahoma State really.

Thanks for the comments on the photos, all of them turned out bad in the last Okie State game, I was just glad to have one to put as the main image. And of course I had a horrible attitude about the loss and didn't take enough.

Thanks for the kind comments and continuing to follow, my friend. Much appreciated.

I'm going to agree with Geezy and say scaling it down is a good call if it's too much to do. Personally, I love your presentation and everything, it's impressive. even this "scaled down" stuff looks to be much more advanced and labor intensive that I can pour into it. I always try to remember: Reporting is fun, and it's great immersion, but the most fun is actually PLAYING THE GAME. Even for my limited stuff I do (game preview, game, weekly recap) it takes a couple hours. I don't know how some of you guys put these things together so quick!

ANYWHO on to more important stuff: Harsh loss to OK State, especially allowing that big 4th quarter. It's a good, strong rebound against Rutgers though. That was just dominant.

Thanks, the Ok St lost was devastating. I was bummed with how pitiful it was. lol

I like the call of bringing up Durbin - outside of the Rutgers game, I feel that the offense looks a lot tamer than last year and when a team needs a spark it's all hands on deck. Excited to see how you fare against OSU - this is going to turn out to be a great measuring stick.

Echoing others and stating that I enjoy the rapid fire updates. I also try to play seasons quickly, but I like being detailed, so haven't been able to do anything about it. Kudos to you for finding a good-looking and effective balance thus far!

Going through some really horrible crap at school, one of the instructors is batstuff crazy and nobody can figure out what she wants us to do, she just changes it up on the daily. Waiting for an appointment with the school on Thursday. Instead of doing my work I'm just coping by playing NCAA. After my next update I'm planning to do an around the NCAA midseason update, do a quarterly three weeks after that then bring it home weekly the following weeks. Should do. I am enjoying not having a complicated game reporting mechanism. That is super nice.

Thank you for the commentary, and for checking in. You're right about Durbin, he has been a big help. I've always thought that the team is more important than the development of an individual player; I want to redshirt everybody I can but that just wasn't gonna happen lol.

Awesome win man, nothing better than a close game that turns out your way. Their abysmal passing attack really played into your favor, and Allen definitely made up for those two interceptions with some breakaway runs.
