------------------ Dutchmen have record setting victory over Western Michigan, 51-34
Summary
Penn A&T set a school record for rushing yards with 443 in their season-ending victory over Western Michigan on Saturday. Three players rushed for over 85 yards and they scored six times on the ground.
RB
Marcus Williams led the way with 196 yards on 15 carries with three TD's, while
Derek Stone added 92 yards and two touchdowns in his final game. QB
Ritchy Teague also rushed for 86 yards and a score, also in his final collegiate game.
From the get-go, the offense set the tone with big, bulk run plays, including runs of 55 and 50 yards from Williams and Stone. The defense also did their part today, forcing two punts and an interception in the fourth quarter.
With the 28-27 lead late in the third quarter, Penn A&T was stuffed at the WMU 1-yard line on fourth down. However, on the very first play of the Bronco drive,
Darrien Howard tackled
Fabian Johnson in the endzone for a safety. From that moment on, Penn A&T shut it down on offense, scoring three time throughout the fourth quarter.
Penn A&T finishes the season just shy of being bowl eligible with a 5-7 record. It's a big turnaround after starting the season 0-4, then they went onto win three of their final four games.
