Excellent win over MSU, it's good to know you can pull off the tight games like that. I'm glad to see this is getting some attention again!

Great win against MSU, must be heart-wrenching for the Spartan faithful to see an opportunity like that at the end just slip away. Can't wait for more from the Hawkeyes!

That gives me a chance to sort of read from the start, which is somewhat rare. Good luck with the new dynasty. Sorry to hear about losing it, that stinks. I always vow to my daughter that if she erases my dynasty she'll be out on the street.
No kidding. MM feels like a lifetime ago...and in reality it was almost half a lifetime ago for me. Crazy when you think about it.

I might post my Illinois one here but it's not up to your standard or DeeGeezy. I simmed through the first year because I didn't feel like replaying it and recruited a "real to life" class ad changed names and appearances to match the 2019 Illinois class and am about to start season two. Kicking around posting here but not sure.

One question: How do you get the pictures you do? Capture Card or?

Me too. It looks like we'll be moving in about a month so things may slow all the way down again, but I don't see months of prolonged absence in the future. I can't wait to catch up on some more dynasties.

Yeah, Eddie Allen will rip out your heart. Almost every time. I have never (in any dynasty) made bigtime use of a running QB. When they are smart, accurate, AND have incredible athleticism, they're just hard to beat. He's like Lamar Jackson lite. A little shorter, probably not as good an arm, but just as accurate and nearly as explosive.

I really hope you do post it and you're not worried about that aspect of it, I for one would be hyped to check out anything you produce and it's always made me uncomfortable that people might think there's a standard to uphold (I would hate if the gradual changes I've made reporting dynasties over 20+ years made anyone else less likely to do theirs), when I started doing my first Madden reports in 1998 on the Thinking Man's Guide to Madden forum it was one post per season, no pictures, no nothing, and it was so much fun.

A lot of the dynasties including those that get a lot of readers are not graphics or image heavy. The OS tools for dynasty reporting make really nice reports. I want to strongly encourage you bro.

I do use an El Gato Game Capture HD - They are pretty affordable, can find them from reputable people used and everything. Really easy to set up and use as they are not installed directly to the PC. When I first started using cap cards the only good ones had to be installed like a graphics card, and the exterior ones were horrible. This is affordable, and works good.

              Hawk Blog Recruiting Update

              Gary Nolan, Staff Writer

Lloyd Verbal Brings Hawkeye Recruits to a Dozen

The Hawkeyes will lose 12 seniors this year, and there are not any obvious juniors expected to consider going pro.

Larry Lloyd, a JUCO transfer from Woodfield, SC by way of the EMCC Lions, makes the 12th commitment of the year for Iowa. These 12 reportedly represent the core of the signings for this season. Additional players are being considered on a case-by-case basis, but the class is unlikely to be more than 15 in size, prior to walk ons.

Lloyd is potentially the most explosive, offensive skill position talent in the class at this time. Lloyd earned good grades in his one year of junior college and will transfer to the Hawkeyes as a sophomore. It is unknown whether Clark would consider redshirting him, or let him compete immediately for a job alongside the other running backs currently on the roster.

As a JUCO transfer it probably makes the most sense to have him compete. Shakur Becton and Maurice Brown are expected to give returning running backs Daniel Norton and Kenard Goodman a run for their money, so why not throw Lloyd into the mix and see what happens? In my opinion, he's the most explosive player of the bunch.

Lloyd topped 200 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns in his most recent game, but looked awkward in the passing game. Here are a few shots of Lloyd in action from his most recent game:

Alabama Moving in on Fellows - He could go quickly

Although they have focused on recruits in the Midwest heavily this year, the Hawkeyes have attempted to bolster their offensive line by looking at a player they feel is underrated from Alabama in tackle Quay Fellows. So far, Iowa has had the inside track on Fellows, who wanted to attend Alabama. However, it appears the Crimson Tide may want in on Fellows now and could quickly get into the mix. It's anyone's guess how serious Alabama is, but needless to say, if they want him, they'll probably be able to pry him away without much effort.

              Not a Good Meme

A sizable contingent of Iowa fans made their way to Lansing for the Michigan State game, and were able to get on camera several times. Notable for their enthusiasm, noise and drunkneness, the group made quite an impression and may have had a little something to do with how well the Hawkeyes did on the road. We'll never know.

What we do know is they can't meme.

A Twitter account claiming to represent the group released a number of tweets on the day, some of which were humorous. This one, however, clearly did not hit the mark.

Not a good meme. Not funny.

                Week 14 Preview, 2020 Season

Another Rubber Match on Deck, Everything on the Line for Hawks

Eddie Allen's first trip to Lincoln Nebraska did not end with a win. He was not the starter that day and did not expect to play, but erstwhile starter Masin Barnes struggled, throwing three interceptions, and Allen was called upon to replace him. The following game, a bowl game against Western Michigan, was Allen's first official start, and the Hawkeyes have been tough to beat ever since.

The Hawkeyes beat Nebraska at home last year with Allen at the helm. Can the Cornhuskers strike back and stoke the flames of the rivalry with the Cornhuskers even higher? It seems unlikely given that the team has lost four of six and is one of the worst teams in the nation in turnover margin. Yet, the Huskers have the talent to have a great game and beat anyone on any given weekend.

Eddie Allen the GOAT! He just seems to make the big play for you at the right time. Doesn't have the gaudiest statline, but always is making the big throw or the big run right when you need it! Lloyd looks like a quality player, it will be hard to keep that speed off of the field next season! One more win to go to seal up a fantastic regular season prior to the B10 championship, and Nebraska is an interesting opponent. They have a lot of talent in the backfield, but will they get any room to do anything because that line is BRUTAL. You should hopefully cut through them like Swiss cheese, and waltz into the championship game if you have your way! Love seeing this coming back consistently, let's go Baby Steelers!

                    News Snippet

Iowa strong safety Kory Walker was injured early in the season, suffering a broken wrist that was estimated to take anywhere from two to three months to heal. It looks at this point like it may be over the three month range of the estimate before Walker can get back to laying down hellacious hits for the Hawkeyes.

                    Coach Clark:

"I feel awful for Kory. He has worked so hard but it's just not responding. It doesn't feel right and he's having trouble getting back on the field. He's working as hard as he can with the rehab, but it's just been really stubborn. He's not going to be able to take the field against Nebraska, as much as he hates it. We're still hoping to get him back before the end of the year, but it might be as late as our bowl game. We're holding out all the hope we can and we hope Kory is able to come back and prove he's healthy for NFL talent evaluators. He's going to be a helluva player at the next level."

The Hawkeyes will continue to start Anthony Reyes in the absence of Walker. Reyes has been solid, posting a pair of sacks as well as a two forced fumbles and two pass deflections. Reyes, a junior, is the type of player that teams may try to replace but just keeps showing up and playing. He has been healthy and productive for much of his career. Another junior, Robert Gandy, also sees additional time on the field due to the absence of Walker.

Thanks bro. I love the baby Steelers outfits, I know a lot of people don't actually like them, and the Idaho ones were so well liked overall.... A hot knife through butter... That's exactly what it ended up being actually. A little easier than I was anticipating, even if we did have to work through some early game difficulties. I agree completely on Allen, he could be putting up huge numbers for other teams, especially if he was facing lesser competition, but in our pro style, results driven (wins!) system, it simply isn't needed. However, he will easily top 1,000 yards on the season and presently has 11 touchdowns. Soon to be 12. :-)

I too am interested to see how this running back situation shakes out. I love some of our young players and one or both of Maurice Brown and Shakur Becton, currently redshirting, will have similar or better ratings than Lloyd. However, as a sophomore, it doesn't really make sense to redshirt him and essentially just put them all in the same class from an eligibility standpoint.

Thanks for your response and insight.

2020 Week 14 Game Report: #3 Iowa at Nebraska

#44 Jaivonn Bender comes away with an interception. Cornhusker #88 Eddie Landrum catches a short touchdown pass. Linebacker Kevin Smith prevents a first down and forces a punt. Daniel Norton plows for tough yards against a physical Nebraska defense that got mandhandled by the Iowa offensive line

#54 David Bryant celebrates after a sack forces a Nebraska punt. Eddie Allen making moves. Bender celebrating his interception. Hopkins takes it the distance for Nebraska. Armand Holmes celebrates his touchdown reception on a perfect pass from Eddie Allen.

D.J. Halloway got some time at wide receiver and made the most of it, celebrating his touchdown catch here.

A vicious stiff arm by Eddie Allen got him into the end zone against a contingent of Nebraska defenders.

Doug Butler drags down Bryant Hopkins over a downed defender and both were bent outside their comfort limit on the play. Hopkins got the worst of it.
