          2014 NFL KICKOFF

WILSON, SEAHAWKS kick off Super Bowl defense against RODGERS, PACKERS

          WEEK ONE PREVIEW

Green Bay Packers(0-0) VS Seattle Seahawks(0-0)

          September 4,2014

          Seattle,WA

          SEATTLE-
The last time the Green Bay Packers traveled to the Pacific Northwest injustice happened. The Seahawks won the game 14-12 in what is known as the infamous failmary. But that was two years ago, tonight these two teams are set to kick off the 2014 season as Seattle hangs their first World Championship banner in front of the 12's.

"We had a special year last year." Head Coach Pete Carroll stated. "Great group of guys in this locker room are hungry to do it again."

But that was last year. It's a brand new season and the Packers are just as hungry as the rest of the league.

"They had a phenomenal year last year. Give that team credit, give that coaching staff credit. " Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated. "It's going to be a tough challenge for us in a place like that. We have to play smart football."

Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is looking forward to the task ahead.

"I know exactly how they feel. Winning the Super Bowl and witness the banner being hung. It's exciting." Rodgers said.

Despite the bad taste left in the people's mouths after that 2012 game, many are calling this a "Grudge Match". Some are laughing it off, other's are vocal about it.

But tonight, it's going to be a more physical challenge as the Packers must face the Seattle Super Bowl winning Defense.

Russell Wilson will have plenty of help as Seattle looks to defend their crown. Percy Harvin, Jermaine Kearse, Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice will be his targets. Let's also not forget the best Running back in football Beast Mode. But that's just the offense, the real superstars of this Seattle team is that Legion of Boom Defense. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas III, Byron Maxwell will look to cause the Packers offense fits. But we can't over look the front seven Seattle has this season. Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril will lead the rush while Brandon MeBane, Malcolm Smith, Bobby Wagner, and Bruce Irvin will be right behind them.

"They have a very good defense over there. We need to take chances against them but also be very careful." Packers Aaron Rodgers stated.

For Aaron Rodgers, his Packers will take the field with second year back Eddie Lacy, James Starks while his targets will rely on Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, rookie Davante Adams and first year man, Tight End Colt Lyerla who won the job in Preseason.

SEATTLE,WA- It was a epic game to kick off the 2014 season as the defending Super Bowl Champions Seattle Seahawks(1-0) defeated the Green Bay Packers(0-1). However Seattle picked up the win in a fashion that they are not accustomed too. It wasn't the defense, it was a Russell Wilson game winning Drive as time expired that sent Seattle in to the win column as Steven Hauschka's 29 yarder gave the defending champs their first win of the season.
However the Seahawks and Packers both struggled on the defense side of the ball. That's uncommon for the LoB which propelled the Seahawks their first Lombardi Trophy in Franchise History just 9 months prior. The Packers racked up over 400 yards of total Offense (419) as Aaron Rodgers despite completing 45% of his passes racked up 253 yards and 4 TD's against the Seahawks defense. They did however pick off 12 twice.

"We knew coming in it would be a tough game for us on offense. They have a really good defense over there. We knew we had to take chances to give us a shot." Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers stated.

"It's a tough place to play in. Great football team over there. I knew we're going to have to take chances and adapt as the game went on. Seattle deserves credit." Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy stated.

"Not very happy with how we played as a unit. We won the game though but we have work to do tomorrow as a defense." Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman stated.

"It was a hard fought win for us but Green Bay has a lot of playmakers over there. That was a hard game for us and it came down to the wire for sure. " Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll stated.

The Seahawks will look to take the momentum on the road as they head to San Diego as the Packers will open their first game at home against the Jets.

Division Rivals set for NFC South Showdown!

New Orleans Saints(0-0) VS Atlanta Falcons(0-0)

                  PREVIEW

                  ATLANTA-
72 hours ago the 2014 season kicked off in Seattle with the Seahawks edging past the Packers for a win. Now it's Sunday and it's officially time for the rest of the league to kick off their season! It's going to be a showdown in the deep south as the Saints and Falcons will do battle with each other as Drew Brees looks to lead his Saints back to the playoffs, a place New Orleans was just last year as a Wild Card where they lost to the eventual Champions Seahawks in the Divisional Round.

"We're aware of what happened last year but our focus is one game at a time and moving forward." Saints Head Coach Sean Payton stated.

"Nobody cares about last year. It's a new year for everyone." Saints Rookie Wideout Brandin Cooks stated.

The Saints will look to get back to the playoffs but their first stop is a Division foe. One they know quite well. The Atlanta Falcons.

"They have a very good team over there. Great Quarterback, great weapons, great Coaching staff. The things Matt (Ryan) does for that squad is just phenomenal." Saints Quarterback Drew Brees stated.

Speaking of weapons, Drew Brees will have quite a lot himself. Brandin Cooks, Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston, Mark Ingram.

"He's possibly one of the best to ever play this game." Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan stated with a grin. "I love watching him play everytime we meet. His accuracy is just pinpoint."

The Falcons are looking for a rebound year themselves wrapping up a 2013 campaign with a pitiful 4-12 record.

"Last year was tough for all of us." Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith stated.

The Falcons haven't changed much except for the absence of Tony Gonzalez who retired this past off-season. Matt Ryan will still have Julio Jones, Roddy White, Steven Jackson, Bear Pascoe and rookie WR Victor Brown.

On paper this offense is legit. It certainly has backed it up on the scoreboard as well. Saints Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan will have his work cut out for him as he prepares to shut down the Falcons offense.

"It's definently a challenge." Rob Ryan stated. "Atlanta has so many ways to beat you across the field. Each play brings a new task."

On the other side of the coin however, Falcons Defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan must come up with his own way of stopping Drew Brees.

"He's a tough guy to prepare for. Hands down one of the best to ever do it."
                  Mike Nolan stated.

                      RECAP

                      ATLANTA,GA-
The Saints/Falcons kicked off another chapter in their Divisional rivalry this morning inside the Georgia Dome. Drew Brees was Drew Brees throwing for 357 yards and 4 Touchdowns with 0 picks.

However, the real surprise was Rob Ryan's new look defense that stole the show today. The Saints defense was a straight up monster holding Atlanta in check from the opening kickoff. Rob Ryan's defense held Atlanta to 217 yards total on Offense and kept their rushing attack to just 40 yards on the ground.

Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan was pressured from the start and dropped to the ground 5 times by the Saints. Ryan had 0 TD's and 0 picks and was hit on just about every play.

"I'm very proud of the way our defense played. Rob (Ryan) did a fantastic job getting our guys ready for this game." Saints Head Coach Sean Payton stated.

Both teams had a fumble during the game but that was the only turnovers.

"We need to protect the ball better moving forward." Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith stated.

"It was a tough day for us. I need to play better myself." Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan said.

The Saints defense was so smothering today that Falcons Wideout Julio Jones was held to just 51 yards on 6 catches.

"Great team effort all around. Very proud of this team right now. Still a long season ahead." Saints QB Drew Brees stated.

The Saints will head to Cleveland next week for their second road game while Atlanta heads to Cincinnati.

The Mike Zimmer era begins in St. Louis....

Minnesota Vikings(0-0) VS St. Louis Rams

                          PREVIEW

                          St. Louis-
It's a brand new era in Vikings nation as Mike Zimmer ushers in the next step. Last year, the Vikings stumbled their way to a 5-10-1 finish which resulted in Leslie Frazier being shown the door. With him, his Coaching staff followed. This year with the Zimmer era set to begin he brings in Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner. On the defensive side of the ball, Zimmer reunites with George Edwards.
The Vikings have a new look in the coaching department however Christian Ponder has been named the starter for the week one matchup against the Rams. Lets not forget Matt Cassell and Teddy Bridgewater had much better camps and Pre-Season.

Teddy Bridgewater is out for a week with a torn shoulder he suffered back in a Pre-Season game.

"Christian (Ponder) is our starter for now. Matt (Cassell) is a good leader for him in that room. It's a brand new era for us all and right now Ponder is the Quarterback. Can I say right now we'll be sticking with him? Absolutely not." Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer stated.

It appears Christian Ponder is on a short leash right now.

"We all have high hopes for this new era and we're excited for it. We know everybody will be held to a high standard and that starts with me." Vikings Quarterback Christian Ponder stated.

Speaking of high hopes, the Rams have some of their own entering 2014 as they look to rebound from a 7-9 record in 2013. The Rams are also looking for a trip back to the playoffs, a place they haven't been since the 2004 season.

Rams Quarterback Sam Bradford has some optimism of his own, missing most of 2013 with a torn ACL.

"I missed a lot of time since I been here. I know this Organization depends on me a lot to lead this team and I need to prove that I can do that." Rams QB Bradford said.

                            RECAP

ST. LOUIS- No one expected Minnesota to do much this year as it ushered in the Mike Zimmer era. The first game in the new era was a disaster as the Vikings were blown out by the Rams 52-21 Sunday inside the Edward Jones Dome. Rams Quarterback Sam Bradford would have a career day against a brand new team still adjusting to a new system. Bradford threw 6 TD's and 0 picks while racking up 299 yards against the Vikings. However his field day was cut short when he left in the 4th quarter with broken ribs after taking a hit.

He would not return. His return date is being determined for about 6 games out.

"It's a blow to your offense when your Quarterback goes down like that." Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher stated. "He's a huge part of our offense. The guys in here knows how important he is to this football team."

Of course, Sam Bradford is no stranger to injury. He missed half of the year last year with a torn ACL.

"This team depends on me to play this game the best I can. I'm very frustrated right now." Rams Quarterback Sam Bradford stated.

"It's no fun seeing players get hurt in this league." Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer stated.

It was a disaster for his team today on both sides of the ball. His defense gave up 52 points and his Quarterback threw 4 interceptions.

"Bad football and bad coaching all around. It's our first game in this new process. I take full responsibility for that. We have a lot of work to do moving forward." Mike Zimmer stated.

Vikings Quarterback Christian Ponder didn't do much favors today throwing 4 picks. He was even booed off the field by the Vikings faithful inside the dome today.

"It's a bad feeling when you have a bad game like that when your team depends on you." Christian Ponder stated.

The question must now be asked with Teddy Bridgewater set to return next week on who Coach Zimmer plans to start.

"We'll take a look at all 3 Quarterbacks in practice this week. It will be a late week decision." Coach Zimmer stated.

Whoever the Vikings decide to go with at Quarterback needs to be on his A-game as Tom Brady and New England comes to town.

The Rams head to South Florida to battle Tampa Bay.
