Hey everyone, welcome to my New Jersey Devils franchise. It was only a matter of time before i progressed to NHL and started keeping track of my seasons. Im active on most other sports so It only natural I made the jumpier to hockey land.

My posts won't be to in depth, a headline, a box score, maybe a few notes. Nothing to special. I'll keep track of trades, standings and such.

    Some Notes
-6 Minute Periods to start, see how it goes.
-All Star difficulty to start, may change this, but so far the results I have liked.

Thats about it, I hope you guys enjoy.

Thank you for checking in! It is definitely not how I wanted the season to start. I was getting so much pressure but nothing was falling. I was getting a bunch of looks with Hughes as his 8 shots points out, i just couldn't get anyone around the net for rebounds. ALMOST LIKE THE REAL THING, which had me quite frustrated.

Thank you again for the comment!

              1 - 6

              Game Notes
              - Sabres smash the Devils in their home opener 6-1, winning two straight to begin the season.
              - For the second straight night the Devils have ran in to a brick wall behind the net, as they again outshot their opponent 39-27.
              - In goal for Buffalo was Carter Hutton who stopped 38 of 39 shots, allowing just the garbage time goal to Jesper Bratt.
              - Jesper Bratt has two of the three Devils goals this season.
              - Conor Sheary had three points in the game, leading all players, he assisted on both of Sam Reinhart’s goals.
              - The Devils first line of Nico Hischier, Taylor Hall and Kyle Palmieri finished at -2 on the night, last night they were on the ice for one goal, bringing their season +/- to a concerning -3 in their first two games.
              - Even more concerning, the defensive pairing of Will Butcher and prized off-season addition P.K. Subban are at -5 to begin the season.
              - Cory Schneider replaced Mackenzie Blackwood with 11 minutes left in the 1st period, after allowing three goals in less than 10 minutes.
              - New Jersey has three days off before they face-off against division rival Philadelphia, in yet another home opener. Thats two straight opposing home openers.

                6 - 3

                Game Notes
                - It was a night of firsts for the Devils as they earned their first win of the season 6-3 on the road vs Philly.
                - Off-season addition Nikita Gusev scored his first NHL goal, just a few minutes after notching his first NHL point with an assist on Blake Coleman’s goal.
                - In the 2nd period, New Jersey took full advantage of a 5-3 situation. The Flyers were called for a delay of game and a hold, leading to two goals from the Devils power play, making the score 4-1.
                - Jesper Bratt notched two more goals, brining his team lead to four. He put New Jersey on the board with a nifty backhander just a few minutes in.
                - Flyers Oskar Lindblom netted two goals in his teams loss, scoring in the 2nd and 3rd period.
                - Earning the win for the Devils was Cory Schneider who stopped 18 of 21 shots, his opposition Carter Hart stopped 33 of 39.
                - Devils superstar Taylor Hall notched his first goal of the season three minutes into the 3rd period.
                - Blake Coleman tied a career high with four points.
                - New Jersey fourth line winger Pavel Zacha injured his foot in the game and is expected to miss a few games, though it is nothing serious.

                  1 - 2

                  - Edmonton’s Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the game winning goal with nine minutes left to go in the 3rd period, flicking one past Mackenzie Blackwood with his forehand.
                  - Blackwood bounced back nicely after his first outing vs Buffalo a few nights ago, where he was pulled 10 minutes in after allowing three goals. He was able to stop 24 of 26 shots earning the 2nd Star in tonights contest.
                  - Every game this season New Jersey has outshot their opponents and it was no different tonight. Mikko Koskinen was the goalie breaking hearts tonight as he earned 1st Star honors with his performance stopping 33 shots.
                  - Taylor Hall has now scored in two consecutive games, as he tied the game at 1 briefly in the final period.
                  - Oilers superstar Connor McDavid left after his first shift, playing just 57 seconds, it is unclear what his injury is at this time.
                  - Earning his first career NHL goal was Edmonton’s Gaetan Haas, the 27 year old center is in his first NHL season after playing most of his career with Bern SC in the Swiss league.
                  - The Devils have two days off before they head to Boston to take on the Bruins. For the 3rd time the Devils will be the opponent in a home opener. Unreal luck.

                    1 - 3

                    • After earning their first win of the season, New Jersey has now lost two straight.
                    • New Jersey has played three road games this season, each one being a home opener for the opposing team, the Devils are 0-3-0 in those games.
                    • Corey Schneider remains winless on the season, he stopped 28 of 31 shots in the loss.
                    • Jake DeBrusk assisted on all three of the Bruins goals in tonights game.
                    • Along with DeBrusk, David Krejci tallied a point on every score tonight, notching two assists and a goal.
                    • The lone goal for the Devils came from Taylor Hall, his 3rd of the season, brining his goal streak to three games. The score was 3-0 Bruins by this time.
                    • Devils out shot the Bruins 37-31 in the loss.
                    • The Devils look to bounce back when they host the Florida Panthers on Monday, a rare week day matinee. The Panthers come to Newark with a 2-2-1 record.

Just Over a Week Into the Season, Devils Sit in Dead Last

                      Devils Notes
                      • The Devils sit at 1-4-0 just over a week into the 2019-20 season.
                      • Center Blake Coleman currently leads the teams with 6 points, 1 goal and a team high 5 assists.
                      • Some would say the Devils had one of the best offseasons addition wise, lets take a look so far...
Jack Hughes, the 2019 first overall pick has just 1 point to his name in the first five games, and that stems off of an assist.
P.K. Subban, the veteran D man acquired from Nashville, is in the same boat as Lil Jizzy, with just 1 point coming from an assist.
Nikita Gusev, the former KHL MVP is off to a better start than the other two, though not much better. The Russian star has 3 points on the year, and is the only player of the three to score a goal so far.
                      • Devils superstar Taylor Hall who has given his agent permission to talk extension with the team, has 3 points, and is currently on a three game goal scoring streak.
                      • The young 21 year old Swede Jesper Bratt currently leads the team with 4 goals, as he is off to his best start of his career.
                      • Goaltending has clearly been an issue early on for the Devils. Cory Schneider currently has the teams only win in net, a victory of Philadelphia.
                      • The Devils will have three home games coming up this week as they host the Panthers, Rangers, and Canucks before having a lengthy five day layoff.

                        1 - 3
                        • Three straight losses for the New Jersey Devils, as they drop to 1-5-0 on the season, in the losses they have not held the lead once.
                        • Nico Hischier scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Kyle Palmieri and Taylor Hall, for Hall his first assist of the season. This brought the Devils within 1 score, at 2-1.
                        • In the 3-1 loss, Taylor Hall saw his three game goal streak end, though he did pick up a point.
                        • Panthers Vincent Trocheck scored the first goal of the game and assisted on the last.
                        • For the first time this season the Devils were outshot, as the Panthers put 35 shots on goal compared to New Jersey’s 29.
                        • Even though he is on a new team in a different division, Sergei Bobrovsky still finds a way to kill the Devils, earning 1st Star honors.
                        • Devils defenseman Sami Vatanen sprained his MCL in the game and is expected to miss about a month. Not what the Devils needed following a 1-5-0 start.

                          0 - 4

                          • Devils drop their fourth straight game and fall to 1-6-0 on the season, as the home crowd was booing the team at the end of the game.
                          • Rangers defenseman Adam Fox scored the first goal of the game on a sexy feed from Artemi Panarin and that would realistically be all the Rangers needed in their 4-0 shutout win.
                          • Cory Schneider was in goal for the Devils tonight, he remains with just the one win on the season vs Philly.
                          • Along with boos heard most of the night, there were “Fire Hynes” chants throughout the building.
                          • Both Taylor Hall and Wayne Simmonds had excellent opportunities to score in the first period, but were denied by Henrik Lundqvist, who stopped all 33 shots he faced.
                          • The Devils outshot the Rangers 33-24.
                          • It is the first time the Devils have been shutout this season.
                          • The Devils will welcome the Canucks (3-2-1) to The Prudential Center on Saturday afternoon. It is the first meeting between brothers Jack Hughes and Quinn Hughes.

                            • Devils get their first point in a week but drop their fifth straight game as they lose in a shutout to the Vancouver Canucks 2-1.
                            • Vancouver took an early 1-0 lead thanks to a Sven Baertschi goal, his second of the season.
                            • Taylor Hall would tie it with a power play goal, his 4th of the season, assisted by Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier. The first time this power play unit has scored all season.
                            • In the first ever “Battle of the Hughes Brothers”, Jack recorded a point, while Vancouvers Quinn Hughes played 24 minutes of solid hockey, recording one shot one goal.
                            • Devils goalie Cory Schneider was as close as you can get to a victory tonight, stopping 28 shots, earning 2nd Star honors.
                            • Again the Devils made an opposing goalie look like a superstar as Jacob Markstrom earned the win, stopping 34 shots.
                            • Canucks Brock Boeser was the only player to connect during the shootout, winning the game for Vancouver.
                            • After earning just their 3rd point this season, the Devils have five days off to reflect on their horrid start. They welcome the Arizona Coyotes to The Rock on October 25th.
