Gameply is awful
In it's current state, this is the worst gameplay for an EA football title in a long time. It's the most arcade feeling one yet. No defense, no closing down, and yet again, the AI just stands around watching the play develop without interacting. Hell, I've seen them run away from the ball. It's all about pace, pace, pace, and winning 7-6. Sliders are needed to hopefully fix this. Oh yeah, Goalkeepers are getting beat on their near post more than ever.Last edited by JayD; 09-25-2023, 05:09 PM.Tags: None -

Matt's sliders help a ton but so far it doesn't stop the above from happening but at least it happens less.

Re: Gameply is awful
Just let the cpu control the defenders without switching near the box and laugh. Any time the ball is near the line in the box, the defenders will let them dribble right to the goalie. Then dribbling toward the box will sometimes be left alone and the CBs will just keep going back. Then they enter the box and can stand there without every being pressured.

Re: Gameply is awful
Hopefully the mods and sliders can fix it as EA doesn't seem to care.

Defenders standing around is ridiculous. I do not understand how this **** continues to be a problem. This post was necessary IMO. Horrible horribleComment

Re: Gameply is awful
It won’t get fixed sadly. It’s very intentional. It’s to cater to FUT players. I’m sure if the “cpu defends for them” it’s an issue. It’s all about stick skills and pace with the online guys. So in turn we get a very arcade like game. Totally ruined for career mode people.

I would love to be like 2k, but it isn't and it will never be in EAFC games.Comment

Re: Gameply is awful
Absolutely shameful and embarrassing gameplay, particularly on the defensive side of things. Defenders don't close down, the AI offense can just walk into the box and do whatever they want, however they want. Good luck getting your passes to go where you want them half the time, let alone generating any meaningful offense against the CPU.
It's insane to me that I'm enjoying gameplay MORE on FUT than I am against the AI. The AI is completely cheap and unrealistic and nothing about this screams football. It's the worst football title I've played in recent memory.
I'm usually giving EA the benefit of the doubt with this series, I KNOW it's meant to be an arcade title and that's what I take it as, but this isn't even fun from an arcade standpoint. It's just downright. bad and frustrating.
All I can say is thank god for Football Manager.Comment

Re: Gameply is awful
Weird to see so many differing views on the game this year. Some people saying it's amazing and some people hating it! I haven't tried it yet, waiting to download it from 11pm tonight.Comment

Re: Gameply is awful
Genuine question and not having a dig at anyone, but when people complain about AI defenders being terrible, are these players that don't always switch to the nearest defender whenever the ball moves around? I am always playing like this so find I'm not relying on AI defenders anyway (other than help defense), but I've just realized that maybe not everybody plays this way. Or is the complete more about how the AI defenders position themselves (tracking back etc.) before engaging with the attacker?Last edited by dwnz; 09-28-2023, 03:36 PM.Comment
