I got my feet a little wet this past summer posting some NBA 2k MyNBA content and feel confident to regularly post about the new team journey I choose to go on this year. I really like the direction the game took this year and it feels pretty realistic and fun from the start this year. I will be slider testing some gameplay sliders and trying things out in the first season or two until I get it where I want it. I don't really see this team as a title contender for a few seasons so I feel it's a good time to do this. I'll also be looking at some MyNBA sliders. The main issue I've had in the past is B or higher young players sitting in free agency demanding a ton of money or just high overall players in general sitting in free agency. If you have any suggestions please let me know. I also experimented last year with making some trades for CPU teams that made sense and I really felt it brought my MyNBA to life and made it a lot more exciting. So, I plan on doing this again this year.
I choose the Orlando Magic this season for a few reasons.
1. They are definitely not a title contender but have some young talent in Paolo Banchero, Cole Anthony and Franz Wagner.
2. They are in a period where they haven't won a playoff series since they had the finals team of Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu, Jameer Nelson and Rashard Lewis.
3. They have never won the NBA finals.
4. The East has some heavy hitting teams such as Milwaukee, Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami. These will be fun games and make it harder during the rebuild.
5. They aren't loaded with future draft picks like other teams I considered like Utah and Portland.
I'm going to be using the 2k roster as of 10/8/23 as I feel its pretty up to date and I don't foresee any more trades before the season starts in real life. I'll leave a graphic of the Magic team history to show what I'm in for. See you all soon!

As training camp winds down its time to take a look at the upcoming NBA season. The Orlando Magic are looking to improve on a 34-48 campaign. Head coach Jamahl Mosley has one of the hottest seats in the NBA right now after owning a 66-108 record the past two seasons. Fans are ready to see some improvement and hopefully a return to the postseason for the first time since the 2018-2019 season, where they only managed to win a game in the first round series. Mosley has released the starting lineup for game one, lets take a look at the roster Orlando brings into the season.

Roster Preview



PG Markelle Fultz- Fultz was named the starter over Cole Anthony due to his consistent playmaking and defensive abilities. His shooting is still shaky, but the Magic need a trusted floor general to help get looks for their shooters.

SG Jalen Suggs- Suggs has struggled to find his true niche in the NBA. Mosley has expressed his confidence in the 22 year old, noting his excitement to see him cover some of the better guards in the league. Offensively, his jumper is coming along okay and he has shown some ability in the pick and roll.

Franz Wagner- The younger Wagner brother has turned into a certified bucket. Not many teams have an answer for a 6'10 sharpshooter who's efficient in the pick and roll. The sky is the limit offensively, while he'll get a chance to guard some of the slower wings on the defensive end.

Paolo Banchero- The rookie of the year looks to continue his growth in his second season. The primary scorer impressed with his ability to rebound and playmake last season. His bully ball style of approach is hard for teams with slender wings to handle. An all-star appearance should be the goal for Paolo from here on out

Wendell Carter- Mosley has been clear with Carter that he has to be in for the conversation for defensive player of the year. Mosley understands Carter has all the tools to do so and that it would vastly improve Orlando's 16th ranked defense from last season. He also proves to be a solid mid range shooter and decent finisher inside.

Cole Anthony- Mosley has been praising Anthony all camp for his scoring ability. He's been compared to a Lou Williams/Eric Gordon lite in terms of the instant offense he brings off the bench. He'll run the second unit with a long leash this season.

Jonathan Isaac- It's been such a roller coaster of a career for Isaac so far. Once regarded as one of the best defenders in the league, injuries has plagued Isaac as of late. His length and size may see him draw big minutes in certain match-ups against teams with big and athletic wings. Coming off the bench allows Isaac to continue his shooting form and scoring ability.

Mo Wagner- Wagner brings a different look as a stretch five into the second unit, spacing the floor for drivers like Anthony, Suggs, Fultz, Paolo, and his younger brother. Not much of a defender in the pick and roll or at the rim.

Gary Harris- Harris looks to be a solid backup with his D and 3 build. He could draw starts over Suggs later in the year if Suggs struggles. He may also be upping his trade stock for a deal at the deadline.

Joe Ingles- This veteran signing comes with a mentor role for a very young Magic team. Ingles still has some shooting and ball handling ability, but Mosley and Ingles have both mentioned his role as a locker room leader to a struggling franchise.

Chuma Okeke- Okeke still has some potential as a 3 and D wing. But, it's hard to find quality minutes for him right now with Paolo, Franz, and Isaac holding down the wing spots. He may also be a trade chip at some point in the season.

Goga Bitadze- A stretch five with some rim protecting potential. Goga has struggled to get on the court in his career. We'll see this season if he improves enough to earn some playing time.

Anthony Black- The number 6 overall pick was selected knowing he's going to take some time to develop. He may see some time in the G-league this year to get some reps. He projects to be a playmaking driver later in his career. Orlando sees him as the future PG one day.

Jett Howard- A scoring guard with some toughness. He'll likely spend some time in the G-league during his rookie season. It's hard to see right now how Jett will develop. He has a good jumper but may need to improve his defense and playmaking in order to see some good minutes. He'll also be looking to finish through contact better as he grows in the league.

Caleb Houstan- A young guy who projects as a good spot up shooter if he hopes to stick around in the league. Another canidate for some G-league time this season. Has some good size Orlando will hope to develop into a passable NBA defender.

Admiral Schofield- Schofield has stuck around as a shooting wing with great strength. He has the potential to guard some bigger wings which is a huge asset. He's on a two-way deal right now and will be 27 years old by the end of the season, so the clock is ticking on him reaching his potential.

Kevon Harris- A pure shooter on a two-way contract who is looking to show he shooting provides undeniable gravity to get himself some minutes on the floor. He'll be looking to show he can give enough effort defensively to make his shooting worthwhile. He's also on a two-way contract.

Team Outlook
The Magic look to continue to improve on a promising young core of Paolo, Franz, and Carter. Some question marks in Fultz, Anthony, Isaac and Suggs look to solidify themselves as great pieces moving forward. The offense needs to improve, as the ranked bottom ten in most offensive categories last season. Coach Mosley and the organization understand the talent they have. But, they feel a play-in game is a possibility if things break right for the team this season. If not, it could see the end of Coach Mosley's tenure as the Magic head coach.

After a month and some change into the NBA season, the Orlando Magic sit at 10-8 while holding the #6 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Magic have played a slow, defensive style that has caught a few teams off guard. They are #1 in the league in allowing only 101.5 points per game. This is due to the defensive lineups Coach Mosely has implemented. Jonathon Isaac, Wendell Carter, Jalen Suggs and Markelle Fultz have given opposing scorers fits all season.

Offensively, they are lead by second-year pro Paolo Bachero. Although Paolo's numbers almost look identical to last season, the efficiency and decision making has improved tremendously. Paolo has been letting the game come to him more, not forcing passes or getting frustrated when not shooting for a while in a game. He's the key focus in the Magic's offensive gameplan every night. Franz Wagner is giving the Magic 16.5 points a game off 50/35/96 shooting and Wendell Carter is showing off on both ends averaging 12 and 10. The backcourt of Fultz and Suggs has allowed the Magic to contain speedy guards and create havoc, as both are averaging over a steal a game. Meanwhile Cole Anthony is giving the second unit 12.8 points and 4 assists per game. Defensive specialist Jonathon Isaac is filling the stat sheet with 1.9 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. Gary Harris has been great off the bench shooting 57% from the field and 48% from three. On the other side, Mo Wagner has struggled in his stretch role shooting 39% from the field and a horrible 30% from three. Joe Ingles, Chuma Okeke and Goga Bitadze have played a few games but will see their roles expand as Mo Wagner recently suffered an injury that will keep him out a few weeks. Jet Howard, Anthony Black and Caleb Houstan have been rotating time in the G-league with two way players Kevon Harris and Admiral Schofield. The Magic are still struggling with their outside shooting and sometimes can fall into offensive slumps due to their defensive focused lineups. But, they have secured good victories over title contenders in the LA Clippers and Boston Celtics


Across the NBA, the Grizzlies and 76ers hold the top seed in each conference. The top of the West is star studded with great early season play from Ja Morant, Steph Curry and LeBron James. The surpise however is the extremely young Portland Trail Blazers, who early in the season most experts wrote off as a 20-25 win team at most. The Nuggets have surged into the 8th seed, as most of the early season they have been trying to stay afloat while Nikola Jokic was on the injury report most of November. The Kings have completely imploded after a historic season last year and the young Rockets are just trying to figure out the pro game. In the East, Philly seems to be over the James Harden saga, as the team seems to being gelling better than ever. The biggest surprise of the season is the East #2 seed Chicago Bulls, who have been clicking. The Cavs and Celtics have both been hit with some injuries to players like Donovan Mitchell, Jarett Allen and Jaylen Brown that explains the disappointing start to the season. The bottom feeders in Detroit and Indiana both hoped to improved this season, but now may look to offload some veterans in order to gain a higher draft pick. Your November players of the month were Luka Doncic and Giannis Antentokounmpo, both of which have headlined the early race for this season's MVP. The rookies of the month were top picks Victor Wembanyama and Brandon Miller. The top scorer has been Ja Morant, who's averaged an insane 37 points per game points a game on 56% shooting. The two other 30 ppg scorers are Trae Young and Shai Gilheous-Alexander.
