Looks like a couple things could really help tighten up defenses. Sounds good in theory, can't wait to test!

Kinda disappointed that the run/pass issue wasn't addressed with this update.

I just shut off a game playing against Denver, with roughly 5 minutes left in the half, the Broncos had 26 pass att compared to 7 rush attempts.

So by the time this problem will (hopefully) be fixed, I'm sure I will have absolutely no interest in playing franchise, and will continue just to log in and do the MUT stuff (no money spent).

I didn't really notice that much change in the defense either, maybe EA adjusted the responsiveness of the Pass cov and reaction sliders? like they did for CFB?...kinda doubt it though, as there was no mention in the patch notes.

The good news bad news title update.

Good News- Fixed Curl Flat Zones less than 15yds

Causing outside Deep Third defenders to get out of position when covering corner routes, or giving up too much cushion vs. corner routes.

Bad News- AI Playcalling logic not fixed, yet. Sigh.

The only thing I will add is not bad from having the 1st big title update last week,
but need to fix that elephant in the room, AI Playcalling, soon.

I'll give them credit for trying to address the pass coverage but until the pass/rush playcalling is fixed, the numbers are still going to be terrible over the course of a 17 game season. Heck before the patch I played a game against the Rams that I held Stafford to 58% completion with 2 INTs but he still threw for 360 yards because they threw it 52 times and ran it 7 in a close game. Pass coverage logic is not going to fix that.

Last week, Gridiron Notes said that AI Playcalling and Zone Defenses would be deployed in future updates.

I didn't think AI Playcalling would be a fix this year and I didn't think it would be fixed one week later, either.

I was wrong on one account, and right in another.

I wish I was wrong on both accounts.

I didn't think AI Playcalling would be a fix this year and I didn't think it would be fixed one week later, either.

I was wrong on one account, and right in another.

I wish I was wrong on both accounts.

The core issue is not “ai playcalling”. Its not that they need to re code the way the cpu calls plays. Its playbooks. It would take me approximately half a day to fix all the cpu playbooks.

Thanks for clarifying, I thought it was a coding issue. Plus, the "AI Playcalling" is how EA described it in Gridiron Notes last week:

In addition to pass coverage, we also have improvements on the way for kickoff exploits, blitzes, AI-play calling and spin-move tuning.

Still, my point still stands, though. I didn't feel it was a thing for EA to fix
on their priority list for awhile.

So, in other words, there's really no excuse for EA not having fixed this by now ... smh
