Re: Trident’s Up

My 2010 season recap.

Before the All Star break; the decisions I made helped set the team up for success beyond my expectations. Looking back at prior records, our team was seemingly 3rd and 4th place finishes. This year however, our team had an AL West lead, by 6 games over the Texas Rangers with a 56-32.

I looked at our roster, the disabled list and it was quite clean. Normal injuries happened to various players, but no major issues arose so I decided to stay out at the trade deadline as I pushed for a playoff spot.

The end of the regular season came in quick, as both the Tacoma Rainers of AAA and the Diamond Jaxxof AAA made their league playoffs. The had news is both teams were taken out in the first round.

The Seattle Mariners had made the playoffs in their first year under my organizational leadership with a record of 99-63 and winning the AL West. Our first round opponent would be the Tampa Bay Rays. We were eliminated after 4 games, but the ownership team was quite happy with my first year success. The Yankees defeated the Cardinals after 6 games to win the 2010 World Sereis.

I accomplished multiple goals they had set forth for me: team ERA under 4.40; made the playoffs; had multiple players in the All Star game including Chone Figgins (3B), Ichiro and Milton Bradley (OF), Cliff Lee and Felix Hernandez (SP) and David Aardsma (CP). I also multiple win streaks of at least 5 games and had a winning percentage above .400 at a crisp .611.
