    #SWARM: A Westlake State Dynasty

WESTLAKE STATE ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

    coming soon...

    Opening Statement:

So I decided I'm finna give this dynasty thing a shot. I just came across these boards last week, and I love this stuff. I wanna salute Deegeezy, Cheese, and SilverBullet in particular as those are the dynasties I read through.

Now before I start anything, imma tell y'all some stuff about me. I be hooping a lot. I want to play professional basketball, and the kind of work I put in is a huge time commitment. Therefore, this dynasty is going to be slow moving, at least for the next 4-5 months. Spring, summer, fall is grind season, and I'm out here working 5-6 hours a day. Wintertime, things will probably move pretty fast cause that's hoop season, and my main focus there is staying rested. I hope y'all can bear with me with the wait times, I'm going to go at my own pace so that I can produce quality content.

So without further ado, here's the info about the school.

    Name: Westlake State University
    Nickname: Swarm
    Colors: Blue, Yellow, Black
    Rival: Akron
Stadium: The Hive (replica of Bobby Dodd Stadium, colors are close enough, plus theres a yellow jacket on the scoreboard)

    Uniforms

We're gonna be trash, but we'll be drippy while we get smacked.

    Side notes

So I used UAB's roster template, rather than the default cupcake roster, which is actually a copy of Akron. I tweaked it a bit, made one project player at QB (will probably be trash). Made good juniors seniors, edited down some ratings.

My offensive style is gonna be pistol-shotgun heavy, I'm going to be spreading the field a lot. Going to be a very aggressive, deep pass heavy offense.

So the next post will be house rules, dynasty rules, and player and staff intros.

    Dynasty Rules:

    Heisman difficulty

JKits sliders with a couple penalty slider edits (IG at 90, KR interference at 1, got those from JoshC's theories, makes the game come alive)

    Rosters: I think they're Cajunomics 2016 rosters

    Quarter Length: 9 minutes

    Slow coach progression

    House Rules

    Recruiting Section

    General rules:

I had specific house rules, but realized that recruiting isn't that easy unless you cherry pick elite unsigned players. I keep it pretty realistic, stay within my pipelines for the most part.

-No redshirting 5 stars (except QB)
    -No redshirting JUCO
-I'll be creating a few storylines for recruits, feel free to submit any ideas you may have
-Unsigned top recruits will be recreated as JUCO players

    Transfers

-Can only persuade a player to stay if they'll start
-Any player over 90 overall declaring for draft cannot be persuaded to stay
-Underclassmen projected lower than the 2nd round may be persuaded to stay

    Joining conferences

-I'll be starting in the MAC in 2015, Independent for the first 2 years to simulate not having a stadium.

    Joining Mid Major

    -3*

    -back to back conference titles

-win 2/3 of games for 3 straight years

    -beat 1 power 5 team

(If I win a BCS bowl, 2-4 are negated)

    Joining P5

    -5*

    -back to back conference titles

-beat 1 power 5 team per season for 3 seasons

    -Ranked for 4 straight seasons

    -3 consecutive 10 win seasons

-Back to back BCS wins negates 2-5

Re: #SWARM: A Westlake State Dynasty

The coaches (at least to start with) are all going to be players from an old franchise I did with the Seahawks.

      HC Davonnie Banks:

A rocket armed QB from the university of Texas, Davonnie Banks was one of the more hyped prospects we've ever seen. He led the Longhorns to back to back 11 win seasons and BCS bowls as a sophomore and junior, picking up a Heisman award on the way, before declaring early.

Banks ended up getting selected number 3, by the Kansas City Chiefs, and saw some immediate success. As a rookie, he threw for 3500 yards and 29 touchdowns, forming an electrifying deep ball tandem with fellow rookie receiver DeSean Bellows.

Unfortunately for Banks, he tore his rotator cuff in a preseason game the following year and was never the same. His arm strength was lost, and he failed to adjust, throwing a whopping 57 picks over the next 2 seasons. The Chiefs decided to cut their losses, and shipped the former star off to Seattle for a 5th rounder. He backed up Hall of Famer Acey Reese for 8 seasons before retiring.

      OC Tommy Perkins

A UCLA Bruin, Tommy Perkins was Christian McCaffrey before Christian McCaffrey. Perkins played running back and slot receiver for the blue and gold, winning a Heisman with a year in which he compiled over 2100 yards from scrimmage and scored 25 touchdowns. He was selected 30th overall, and enjoyed a successful 9 season career with Seattle, winning 2 rings in the process.

      Defensive Coordinator Robert Jackson

Born and raised in Atlanta, Robert Jackson was an overlooked DL prospect coming out of high school.
Despite being a 3 year starter, Jackson was only ranked as a 2 star recruit, and didn't receive much D1 attention. He only received 3 offers to play FBS football, and committed to UL Lafayette, where he promptly won a starting job and broke the school's career sacks record. He was drafted by Seattle after his senior year, where he became the anchor of a suffocating run defence, winning 4 rings in his 15 seasons.

Re: #SWARM: A Westlake State Dynasty

College football is coming to Westlake!

Westlake, OH -- After 26 years of existence, Westlake State University finally has a football team. This had been rumored since the construction of a stadium last year, but no one really expected it to happen so soon. "This is huge for Westlake. Every town deserves a college team.", said Tommy Perkins, the former Seattle Seahawk who is the teams offensive coordinator.

Generous donations from several local benefactors, including head coach Davonnie Banks, a Westlake native, allowed for the construction of a sports complex on campus, and state funding allowed the construction of a stadium to begin last year.

Students around campus are excited at the prospect of having a D1 team at their school, with a lot of walk on interest, as well as several transfers coming in from other schools in hopes of more playing time.

Westlake will be independent before moving into their new stadium and joining the MAC in 2015.

It is a very bold move for Westlake to go straight to the FBS. Time will tell if they'll catch on.

(I'll be including pictures soon, figuring things out. Image tags not working for me right now.)

For sure man. Imma do my best to make some good content. Gonna be slow to start cause I'm figuring stuff out, but I'll probably be getting 2-3 games a week soon. At least for the summer. Once I'm back in school it'll be slow cause I really only have time on weekends.

Coach Banks expects WSU to improve quickly

Westlake, OH -- Westlake State University needed a head coach for their new football program. Enter Davonnie Banks, the former college superstar QB who won 2 rings as a backup in Seattle.

Banks will bring his former teammates Tommy Perkins and Robert Jackson with him as his offensive and defensive coordinators, respectively. The trio will face an uphill climb to try to bring the Swarm to relevancy, let alone a BCS title. But Westlake AD John Stafford believes he has the right men on board.

"Who else is better? These 3 are high level champions. They know what it takes to win. They bring something no other candidates could bring here. These guys being here is our first step to establishing a winning culture."

"You know, I never thought I'd end up in Westlake, Ohio. I honestly hadn't ever heard of Westlake until John called me 2 weeks ago. But I'm happy to be here. And to coach with my boys? That's a dream come true."

But Banks knows this will be no walk in the park. "Easy? Of course not. I know this will be difficult. But I came back from a shoulder torn up so bad they told me I'd never throw again. I became a champion. Davonnie Banks don't take the easy road. Trust me, we'll be on top soon though.", said Banks in response to a reporter asking him if he thought this would be easy.

Banks got a hearty round of applause from everyone present, including Sam Perry, his former college and pro teammate, who expressed his faith in his friends. "I know Davonnie, RJ, and Tommy well enough to say this: Don't be surprised if little Westlake State is taking over in a few years. That boy works so damn hard. He busts his a-- every day, makes you work harder, and brings success wherever he goes. He may have been a backup, but he demanded so mush from himself and from everyone else, and that made us championship level."

                              The Westlake State Chronicle

                              By Bruce James
                              Westlake, OH --

With the inaugural season of Swarm football getting underway, I decided to drop in on practice today, to get a feel for this team. Here are 3 offensive players to keep an eye on this season.

                              1. QB Broderick Booth, QB

Booth, a UAB transfer like most of this roster, will be handed the keys to the offense from day 1. He's a balanced passer, with decent arm strength, accuracy, and speed. He's not going to wow you with raw talent, but he's fundamentally fairly sound and should be dependable in his final college season. We'll need him to be a good game manager at the very least if we want to have a chance at a respectable season.

                              2. OJ McNair, HB

OJ McNair is probably our most talented player. He's a good all around back who will be asked to run, catch, and may even be a return man. Him and Tyjuan Sparks will have to step up in the run game if this team is going to have a multifaceted offense.

                              3. Ayo Chandler, QB

Ayo Chandler isn't your average college QB. Standing at 6'7, 233, the former power forward switched to football when he heard Westlake was getting a team. He's definitely a work in progress. The big man has an absolute cannon for an arm, one of the strongest in the country. However, his mechanics are very shaky. His footwork in the pocket is poor, and he misses some reads that a college starter shouldn't ever miss.

He did make some throws in spring practice that had me really impressed. But then he'll turn around and miss a 10 yard slant, or a curl, and I remember why Coach Banks has named Booth the starter.

Running wise, he's not the fastest QB, but runs hard, like a Ben Roethlisberger. He shakes off linebackers regularly. I saw him bust 2 tackles and turn a 5 yard loss into a 15 yard gain in one scrimmage.

He isn't likely to play much this year, but he's one to watch in the future, with 2 more years of college eligibility under his belt.
