Getting back into wrestling as an adult, that MitB match, DB shining at WM XXX, Dolph shining the night after and Kofi-mania are the events that made me feel like a kid when watching.

That being said.... I hated the Cena stopping people power from interfering spot. Cena and Punk didn't need the shenanigans.

For as long as we are in this crazy time with no fans and the era of cinematic matches, I'd like to see WWE explore something like this where you have a PPV on a Beach like this. Or just have a match on the beach where the loser is eaten alive by a Shark. I mean if we are ripping eyes out, might as well go all the way.

Works for me. Might as well try a bunch of different things during this Covid Era and see what works.

I feel like if they don’t give Summerslam the “Bash at the Beach” subtitle and put the event out on a beach would be a MASSIVE missed opportunity this year.

Didn't AEW get the rights to bash at the beach?

                August 2, 1993

There's absolutely nothing memorable about this match, I just saw this on the Network's overnight schedule and thought it was weird to see Macho Man and Doink standing across the ring from each other.

Randy Savage was only 40 at that time, and still was one of the most popular guys they had. Should have never minimized him and let him go to WCW.

Its interesting to see how much things have changed. WWE wanted to move on from the "old guys" and make way for new young talent back then, but those older guys could still go. And nowadays guys much older than that are still competing.

And the "make way for young talent" thing was not exactly accurate, considering Bret was 36 in 1993. I could see moving on from Hulkamania (although it came back to bite later) but Savage would have been over forever with the same gimmick.

Here's another one for this day on August 2nd, a history making moment for Ron Simmons as he beats Vader for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

It angers me we didn't get that 2 year HBK feud.

I hate that I never gave Tony Schiavone the credit he deserved back then. He seemed too polished and professional at the time, but now we see how easy he actual made that job look. Plenty of guys are just plain boring now. He was so great. Still is. All time underrated announcer.
