Marlins Rock The Phillies In Game One, But Phillies Come Back To Win The Series

Stanton had a huge day vs the Phillies

At least the Marlins stole one out of the Phillies.

Marlins Claim J.A. Happ Off Of Waivers

Happ is expect to be the Marlins long reliever.
Today the Marlins announce that they have claimed lefty J.A. Happ off of waivers. Happ was called down to the AAA team in Toronto, after a 6.55 ERA in 3 starts with the Blue Jays.

J.A. Happ, the once Phillies prospect, has moved around over the past years. He has a career 35-35 with a 4.19 ERA record with the Phillies, Blue Jays, and Astros. Happ was is set to make $3.7 million for the 2013 season and then hit free agency. Happ, 30, came to Toronto in a massive 10-player trade last July. He was used as a swingman type after the trade, making six starts and four relief appearances. He appeared to enter the spring in the same role, but with Ricky Romero still dealing with delivery issues, Happ took the No. 5 spot in the rotation. However, that didn't work out as planned as Happ didn't quite impress in his first 3 starts off the season and then got claimed by the Marlins.

Happ is expected to become the Marlins long-reliever, and possible 5th starter depending how Kevin Slowey does. It should be interesting to see how Happ does with the Marlins. Low risk, high reward deal right here.

Thanks for the support guys! I hope Happ decides to make us happy . We're not asking for him to do too much, so hopefully he'll step up. He's a decent pitcher, so it's worth a shot. Thanks for the comments!

Nationals Sweep The Marlins, Marlins Drop To 3-12

The Nationals took advantage of the Marlins lineup without Stanton in it.

We're really struggling early on here. Nothing more that I can say, we just overmatched that series. Also, Stanton has been putting up some nice numbers for us. He'd be a MVP candidate if he was on a winning team. Thanks for the comment!
