Through 29 games, 88 ABs: .261/.383/.398 , 3 HR, 9 RBI

He went on a little bit of a cold streak he was at .325 the last week of April then came back to Earth. He leads my team in walks though, dude finds a way to get on base and he brings a lot of his at-bats deep into the count.
I'm not worried about him he'll be good for me this season. Where's he hit in your order? He's in the 6-hole for me but I've debated bouncing him around a bit.

Nice, he has nearly the same OBP in both of our chises. I bat Olt strictly in the clean-up spot. I started him out in the 6-hole last year but he hit circles around Chris Carter, who was my cleanup hitter at the time. So If flipped them midway through 2013.

Re: From A Mess To Amazin': The New York Mets (MLB The Show 13)

Mets Struggle, Get Swept by Braves in 4 Game Series

QUEENS, NY -- It was not a good weekend to be a Mets fan, as the Metropolitans (16-16) would lose all 4 games of the home series against first place Atlanta Braves(24-7).

The final game would be a heartbreaking one for Zack Wheeler, who received the loss after giving up only one run in 8 extremely well pitched innings, striking out 11. The Mets would get shut out and lose to the score of 1-0.

"It's disappointing to go out there and the one mistake you make turns out to be the reason we lose the game. I was cruising and got too comfortable, no way should we have gotten swept this weekend. We're a way better team than that and better than our record shows." said Zack Wheeler after watching the Braves celebrate their 24th victory of the year. The Braves are already in first place by 6.5 games over the Washington Nationals, with the New York Mets in third, 9.5 games back.

The Mets will look to wake up the bats in the upcoming roadtrip to the west coast. They will play 3 games against the San Diego Padres, followed by a 4 game series in San Fransisco.

Re: From A Mess To Amazin': The New York Mets (MLB The Show 13)

Gee Struggles, Mets Drop 6th Straight

SAN DIEGO, CA -- Things have certainly not been going well for the Mets lately, a team who's many offseason moves had gained high expectations for themselves going into this season. Today, the Mets would lose game one of their road trip to California, losing to San Diego by a final score of 7-5.

Dillon Gee would struggle in today's outing, lasting only 4 innings while giving up 5 runs. He would walk 2 batters, both of whom scored, and would strike out 5 before being pinch-hit for by Ike Davis in the top of the 5th. Noah Syndergaard came in to relieve him, giving up 2 runs in 2 innings. Mike Montgomery would finish the game with 2 perfect innings, striking out 4. Gee's ERA has jumped to 5.25 on the year with a record of 2-3.

Travis d'Arnaud would hit 2 homeruns in today's game, trying to keep the game close. Chase Headley's homerun in the 6th would be enough to seal the game though, and Huston Street would record his 13th save of the year.

The Mets will try and get their 4th win of the month tomorrow, May 13th, with Shaun Marcum (1-2, 3.08 ERA) will take on struggling pitcher Edinson Volquez (1-4, 5.91 ERA).

Things to watch for this road trip:

The Mets are struggling and cannot let this get out of hand or the season could be lost by the end of May.
--The everyday Shortstop position has been Everth Cabrera's job to lose and he's not making a very good case as to why he should stay there. He's hitting .187 on the year and only 5 for 7 when it comes to stolen bases. On the other hand, Ruben Tejada has 30 less at bats than him but is hitting .375. Tejada has also shown that he has improved his fielding ability, while Cabrera has made 4 errors on the year. Expect to see Tejada getting extended playing time and if he does well he will become the every day shortstop.

--Daniel Murphy is hitting .186 as the everyday second basemen. Joe Panik is hitting .290 in Triple-A and could replace Murph if he is optioned to triple-A to get his act together. One of the previously mentioned shortstops will most likely be traded by the allstar break to make room for Panik, but if Muph doesn't turn things around it might be him who is shipped off at the deadline.

--Jordany Valdespin is making last year seem like a fluke. Coming off the bench he has hit .145 with 1 homerun in 62 at bats. The Mets still have prospect Matt Den Dekker in Las Vegas who can become the Mets 4th outfielder. Look for Valdespin to be demoted to triple-A if he doesn't get hot this series.

Re: From A Mess To Amazin': The New York Mets (MLB The Show 13)

Mets Get Embarrassed, Losing Woes Continue

SAN DIEGO, CA -- The New York Mets got absolutely killed today against the San Diego Padres. The Padres would score 5 runs in the first inning and not stop there, scoring 12 in total. They would have 18 hits.

Shaun Marcum got absolutely rocked, failing to get out of the 3rd inning. He would give up 5 earned runs and leave the game with the bases loaded. His ERA would jump to 4.02.

Volquez on the other hand would go a complete game shutout, giving up 8 hits and striking out 9. He only threw 119 pitches. The Mets would fail to drive in any of their runners, only 3 of them reaching scoring position.

"Everything that can go wrong has been lately." said Terry Collins."Part of it is just the game of baseball. Part of it is just mental errors. Thats what is the problem. Things need to turn around, and fast, before the season is over by the end of May. We'll turn it around, we got hot when we needed to last year to get back up to .500 and I trust this team to do it again. We're a better ball club this year than we were last season, no doubt about it."

The Mets will try and win tomorrows game and avoid the sweep, sending Kyle Lohse (2-1, 3.11 ERA) up against Casey Kelly (1-4, 4.32).

The Mets have absolutely imploded this month, and nobody is happy.

Re: From A Mess To Amazin': The New York Mets (MLB The Show 13)

Parnell Blows Save in 9th, Mets Win in 13

SAN DIEGO, CA -- The Mets were on cruise control up until the 9th inning, and then, like Terry Collins had said before, "Everything that could go wrong, did.". Bobby Parnell, who had been perfect so far on the season, came in to pitch. The score was 6-4, and Parnell had room to work with after getting a comebacker for the first out of the inning. Then all hell would break loose. Maybin would double in the first run. Then Parnell would end up walking 3 batters in a row! 2 of the 3 were on full counts and both calls just so happened to go the Padres way, the last ball 4 was a missed call by the plate umpire and was blatantly a strike.

The game would be a standstill until the 13th inning. Ruben Tejada, who entered the game in the 8th inning, would hit a leadoff single. After a sac bunt by Jeurys Familia (3-1), David Murphy would later hit the go-ahead single off of Dale Thayer (1-1). Familia would then close out the game striking out 2 of the last 3 batters.

Familia pitched 4.0 shutout innings although twice he got out of a bases loaded jam. He would give up 5 hits, walk 2, and strike out 5 while receiving the win.

"Baseball is a crazy game." said Terry Collins "That's why it's so romantic. You literally have no idea what is going to happen next! This win was big. The bats really came alive in this one and hopefully we use this momentum to take a few more wins from these tough west coast teams."

Another thing about today was that some of the Met players switched to wearing stirrups, as being superstitious has always been a big thing in baseball.

"Me and a few of the other guys, Beltran, CarGo, Olt, and a few others all went pants up today. We figured we'd have to get a little bit of luck on our side to get out of this little slump we've been in." said centerfielder Gerardo Parra. Parra went 3-7 on the day and was a Triple shy of the cycle.

Re: From A Mess To Amazin': The New York Mets (MLB The Show 13)

Here is the top 10 prospects in the Mets organization and how they are doing so far this season as well as projections:

1. SP John Lamb - Triple-A : 6-1, 2.56 ERA, 52.2 IP, 51 SO

Lamb is next in line to enter the Mets rotation, ahead of both Noah Syndergaard and Rafael Montero due to the fact that he is the best Lefty starter in the organization. He could be called up anytime around the all-star break if someone is struggling unless there is an injury which will allow him to make an earlier debut.

2. LF Darrick Gale - Double-A : .237/.317/.301 1 HR, 13 RBI

Darrick Gale was last years first round pick for the New York Mets, and they were looking to fast-track him to the MLB for when Beltran leaves. As of right now, this is not the case. He has brought his average up a bit the last couple of weeks, but figure Gale will stay in Double-A for the rest of the year.

3. SS/2B Joe Panik - Triple-A : .294/.394/.385 2 HR, 10 RBI

Panik is competing with Deven Marrero to be the next in line guy for the New York Mets in the middle of the infield. He can also play 2B which is where he has been starting in triple-A, and may be called up soon if Muphy continues to struggle.

4. SS Deven Marrero - Triple-A : .302/.382/.427 1 HR, 14 RBI

Marrero was brought over from Boston last year along with Travis Shaw when the Mets shipped off Jon Niese. Him and Panik are easily the best 2B/SS combo in Triple-A right now, as they have only made one error between them and are both hitting right around .300. Marrero can also play 2B and it will be interesting to see how the Mets middle infield will pan out.

5. 1B Clay Osuna - Double-A : .294/.311/.429 5 HR, 23 RBI 126 AB

Clay Osuna was the third round pick in last years draft and has quickly risen the ranks within the Mets prospect board. He is hitting .429 with runners in scoring position and is crushing the ball. He may make the move up to Triple-A if he is putting up the same numbers after the first half of the double-A season comes to a close.

6. SP Rafael Montero - Triple-A : 1-0, 1.23 ERA, 29.1 IP, 22 SO
Montero has been dominate in Triple-A and may be called up into the long reliever role as soon as when the Mets come home from their west coast road trip. He will be looking to make one more start and then switch spots with Noah in the bigs.

7. Johnny Ramirez - Double-A : .356/.415/.450 2 HR, 10 RBI

Johnny is the player who the Mets drafted last year despite him tearing his ACL, and he is out to prove every single doubter wrong. He's playing like a bat out of hell right now. He may not be the potential 40 bag stealer he used to be, but he's doing just about everything right for him to be fast tracked through the organization. He's one of the hardest workers on the squad, first one to arrive, last one to leave. It'd be hard to root against this kid to succeed in the bigs.

Notables:

8. SP Cory Mazzoni - Triple-A : 2-4, 4.74 ERA, 43.2 IP, 37 IP
9. SP Jenrry Menjia - Double-A , DL
10. SP Logan Verrett - Double-A, 3-3, 5.13 ERA, 40.1 IP, 25 SO
