Eliminated.

Posted 12-31-2010 at 04:57 PM by tomzenns
My Miami Heat today were eliminated from the Easter Conference Finals, 4-2 by the Boston Celtics.

It was a good run, but injuries got in the way of a Championship. Wade, Bosh, Haslem, and Miller all were out of the line up during on and off throughout the regular season, and Lebron's playoff back spasms.

On to the off season where I plan to pick up Kyrie Irving to run point for the Heat next season.

Season Review

After 82 games in the regular season and the first two rounds of the Playoffs, the Conference Semi-Finals are set. Here is a run down of the 2010-2011 NBA Season in NBA2k11, Miami Heat user controlled.

SEASON OVERVIEW

Miami Heat (42-40)

-3rd in Southeast Division
-7th Seed in Playoffs
-Lebron lead league in PPG

SUMMARY

The Heat started their season off with a rocky 8-8 start, then the injuries came. Wade, Bosh, Haslem, and Miller all went out around the same time with the injuries lasting months. The teams chemistry dropped and, at one point, the Heat were 10 games below .500. The Heat signed Larry Hughes to try and fill some of the gaps, but it didn't come easy. Once they had their full team back, the Heat rolled to a 20-6 record to finish their season at 42-40, and earned a 7th Seed in the NBA Playoffs.

The Heat have advanced to the Conference Semi-Finals after beating the Bucks in the first round (4-1), and the Magic after that (3-2). Next the Heat go into Boston to start and **** series against the Celtics. In the West, the Lakers and Thunder will battle it out for a spot in the NBA Finals.

KEY PLAYER STATS

Lebron James - 24.2 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 1.0 SPG
Dwayne Wade - 14.1 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 1.2 SPG
Chris Bosh - 11.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 1.5 APG

NBA REGULAR SEASON AWARDS

Regular Season MVP
Rajon Rondo

Rookie Of The Year
John Wall

6th Man Award
Evan Turner

Defensive Player Of The Year

Tonight...It Begins.

Posted 11-27-2010 at 06:22 PM by tomzenns
I have recently upgraded my sports games, and the new patch came out for NBA2k11, so I am starting all new Dynasties. All will start with the most current rosters available, as of today.

Madden 11 - New England Patriots > All-Pro, 6 min
NCAA 11 - Duke Blue Devils > All-Conference, 6 min
NBA2k11 - Miami Heat > Sim/Pro, 12 min, 82 games
NCAA Basketball "11" - Duke Blue Devils > Varsity, 20 min
MLB2k10 - Cleveland Indians > All-Star, 9 innings, 162 games
NHL10 - Pittsburgh Penguins > All-Star, 5 mins

*For NHL 10 & MLB2k10, I am going to simulate through the first season, make my draft picks and off-season moves, then start on the 2010-2011 season.

I plan to play every single game in every single sport, with exception of MLB2k10 where I usually play the first game in the season series, then super sim the remaining games, and intervene in the 7th inning if down/up by 3 runs or less. On all the others I only simulate when there is a complete blowout in the 4th quarter (last 10 mins of 2nd half in NCAAB"11"), or when my team has clinched Division, Top Seed, and (when applicable) Home Field Advantage and 1st round BYE.

My plan is to just set these game with the settings as close to default as possible, and let it all unfold. I don't plan on buying any other games, so I want to try and take these as deep as I possibly can, and for as many seasons as I possibly can.

I am probably going to post some stats for big games as well as updates on how my teams are doing. This is going to be a long grueling battle to try and win the top spot in all these sports, but its going to be absolutely ****inggggg incredible.

I Am Over Playing "Sim"

Posted 11-22-2010 at 07:49 PM by tomzenns
Real life is too hard to re-create in a video game, so I have given up. From now on I am leaving the real life stuff to real life, and keeping the gaming stuff to me. I have bumped all quarter lengths down, keeping the sliders as close to default as I possibly can, and leaving all difficulties at All-Star/All-Pro/All-Conference. I stopped worrying about stats and started focusing more on just playing the game.

And what do you know...I am starting to have fun again.

"Sim" is the new "Emo". A way of gaming that has turned into a buzz word. It gives people a reason to complain and not end up content with their game. But hey, news flash, this isn't real life.

OVER IT.
