2011 Draft-Remainder of Draft

Trades are much reduced, but I swung one trade to get Dontae Gales. All undrafted players have already been cut.

Trade:

4-102-Panthers to Seahawks for 5-147, 2012 4th, and 2012 7th.

Re: Starting again in Seattle

2011 Training Camp

This will likely be the last year for the position coaches hired at the end of 2008-Craig Johnson, Tom Rathman, Tim Cobble, and Tim Spangler.I will keep it as a possibility to promote some of these coaches, however. It might also be the last year for both Caldwell and Christiansen, if both are looking for promotions at the end of the year. Either way, I should still have two skilled coordinators and a few position coaches left, but I may not be able to hire skilled replacements until a few years after. Now for training camp.

Rookie contracts:

WR Qusean Mack-4 years, 3.1 million, 500K signing bonus.

HB Jerry Ware-4 years, 2.9 million, 500K SB.

RE Kibo Bakari-4 years, 4.6 million, 500K SB.

SS Egypt Jones-5 years, 8.4 million, 2 million SB.

Season Goals:

Increase Peter Boma's Play Knowledge to 25%

Increase Earl Bennett's PK to 25%

Increase Dontae Gales PK to 25%

Add 10 New Plays.

Further Season Goals:

Play Egypt Jones 50 downs

Play Peter Boma 50 downs

Play Kibo Bakari 50 downs.

Re: Starting again in Seattle

Preseason 2011

We went 3-1 in Preseason, lost to the Bills in a close one. We suffered several injuries-one to a key player in Kenny Phillips. One problem that I will face is that Egypt Jones expects to start, and may not be happy in a subordinate role. He'll just have to deal for the time being.

About the season goals-I'd like an option to fire the owner. Suffice to say no one will be winning rookie of the year on my team this year, I likely won't finish #1 in total defense, both coordinators might be ready for head coaching spots, and I might let Mario Williams move on.

Preseason Game 1-Seahawks 28, Titans 14

Bennett 73 rec yds
Bakari 1 sack

Preseason Game 2-Bills 27, Seahawks 21

Rice 65 rush yds, Mack 49 rec yds
Bakari sack

INJ-SS Kenny Phillips-high ankle sprain-3-4 weeks.

Preseason Game 3-Seahawks 42, Rams 14

Mack 87 rec yds
Jones sack

INJ-LOLB Dan Haynes-torn ACL-3 months
INJ-DT Patrick Lopez-sprained knee-1 week

CU-HC-Strength Training, GM-Trade Negotiation 5.

Seahawks 45, Jaguars 3

Rice 79 rush yds, James 60
Mack 127 rec yds, Gales 4 pancakes
Wright 2 INTs

CU-STC-P Int 4, QBC-Perf 4, RBC-Perf 4, WRC-Receiver Discipline, DLC-Perf 4.

Preseason Promise-Win the Super Bowl

Season Goals:

Beat Rams-Week 1
Win 3/4 games
Beat Giants-Week 8
Re-sign DT Patrick Lopez
Re-sign P Ryan Plackmeier
Re-sign RE Mario Williams
Re-sign LOLB Dexter Knox
Re-sign HB Leron James
Re-sign FS Prince Justin
Re-sign WR Jamarion Bellows
Re-sign K Russell Carpenter
Re-sign RG Patrick Boma
Win Defensive Rookie of the Year
Win Offensive Rookie of the Year

Bring DC Jim Mora back
Win Coach of the Year
Finish #1 in Total Offense
Finish #1 in Total Defense
Finish with 90+ Approval

Re: Starting again in Seattle

2011 Team Roster and Cap Information

First some general roster musings. I think I can let Mario Williams enter FA, Bakari looks ready to take over RE. It's hard to imagine spending money on a DT, but Lopez has been productive enough to spend the money. Marcus Trufant has had minor stat decline with the physical ratings, and by the end of his contract I might give Jason Wright the CB2 spot. The only other tough decision might be SS-do I sign Phillips or let him enter FA. I might also sign Rice to an extension if i don't want to pay the money for James. Finally, Bellows. It'll be a tough choice to make.

Re: Starting again in Seattle

2011 Season-Game 2-Seahawks 41, Bucs 6

Not a team that looks to have upgraded the team a lot in the draft since they drafted Kelly James, they seem content to fill in the missing pieces through free agency. It's enough for them to win their division and make the playoffs, but it may not be designed to go far in the playoffs.

OPOW-QB Dane Morrow-22-29-360-5 pass TDs.

2011 Season-Game 3-Seahawks 44, 49ers 3

My overall impression for the 49ers in this game is that Martz may be gone from their offense, but it seemed to have made their defense better-at least until the 5 minute ticker hit.

CU-DPOW-LE Calais Campbell-9 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 FF.
