Seahawks Outlast Bengals 31-19

Kenneth Walker III leaps into the end zone after his fourth quarter touchdown run.

Cincinnati - The Seahawks were in a fight with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, but were able to wear them down in the fourth quarter, and come away with a 31-19 win on the road. The win came in spite of another shaky start from Geno Smith, who threw two more picks to get to six on the season. On the other side of the ball the Seahawks normally stout run defense was gashed by Joe Mixon, but held up when it got down close to the goal line as they forced four Evan McPherson FGs on the day. The game was neck and neck late until Kenneth Walker, who was bottled up much of the day, finally broke loose on a 48 yard TD run late in the fourth quarter that put the game away, and moved the Seahawks to 4-1 on the season.

Week 7 Preview vs. Arizona

Seattle - The Seahawks finally return home for the first time since Week 3 when they host the division rival Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Arizona is very much in a transition year with QB Kyler Murray still on the mend from his torn ACL injury from last season. Joshua Dobbs has done as well as can be expected in his absence throwing for the fifth most yards in the NFL so far this season, but unfortunately leading the lead in interceptions. Speaking of interceptions. Geno Smith will try to shake the INT bug after he's throw two each in his last two games, with the Seahawks going 1-1 in those contests. Seattle - The good feelings of a blowout victory at home only lasted for so long on Sunday afternoon, as the Seahawks got some devastating news about their starting QB. Geno Smith took a hard sack in the third quarter and landed hard on his throwing shoulder, and had to leave the game. X-Rays later confirmed a broken collarbone that will sideline the Seahawks signal caller for at least 6-8 weeks. That puts the Seahawks 5-1 season in the hands of Drew Lock, who at least for one half of football on Sunday showed he was more than up for the challenge as he diced the Cardinals defense for over 200 yards and two touchdowns in less than two quarters of football. Now the pressure of having to keep the ship a float, and defenses now preparing for him will fall on the shoulders of the QB many thought would be the starter when they traded Russell Wilson to Denver before last season. He'll face a tough test early as the Seahawks welcome the Cleveland Browns to town next Sunday.
