Interesting story about UConn not wanting to go to the ACC. Surprised the AD will still be concerned with that, I feel like that ship had sailed when they moved to the Big XII. I can see the ACC trying to entice them though, like you said, they haven't produced a lot of winners lately. Funny that you made the move in the Sun Belt with Arkansas State out and UAB in, I did the same thing in my dynasty except Arkansas State went to the Big XII (they had won 4 of the 5 Sun Belt Conference Championships since I started, ranked in the Top 10 last season).

Lastly, hopefully Jackson can keep UConn on the right track with TDL out. Maybe he'll give Diaco more problems once TDL is healthy on who should start. Honestly, if Jackson plays well I'd say he deserves to start the rest of the way out. Maybe now you won't have to worry about him having to make miracle comebacks because he'll have UConn winning from wire to wire.

I'm really pulling for Coach Coley and Rutgers.. with any luck you guys can keep winning and contend for a Big 10 crown and even the Playoff..I'd really like to see that. Some school out there will definitely take notice of the fact that you've groomed a legitimate Heisman candidate and I think you have a fantastic shot at moving up the ladder this offseason. However, it's foolish to set anything in stone yet.. I was certain Coach Smith was going to get a head coach job after Purdue went to the New Year's Six last year, and that didn't happen. But, fingers crossed nevertheless. It's about time that some of our guys in the CAC fraternity get their shots with bigger jobs.

RoundingThird's comment spurred my inquiry into the ACC. I am happy in the Big 12, but I do like the challenges that come with facing new teams consistently. And I was stunned to see that the ACC has been so bad in the first six years of the dynasty.. Who knows if the move will actually happen, but I think it could be a good potential storyline. The Big 12 move was done with the guidance of our old A.D., who is now at Michigan (in this dynasty universe and in real life too, as fate would have it.) With Bobby V.. anything's possible! We'll see how this progresses.

I think after the OU game I-Jax will be our guy, even when TDL is healthy again. TDL can produce the stats, but he's either really really good or really really bad. It's clear that I-Jax gives us our best chance to win consistently so we can take aim at the playoff. There's already been a lot of parity this year with a lot of the "perennial powers" (Florida, USC, Ohio State, Alabama) already with multiple losses, so we're still in good shape.

He's listed as OSU's 3rd string tailback, and both of their top two guys are hurt. That confused me at first as well.

Last time they met: UConn needed overtime to beat Tech in a sloppy game in East Hartford last year. Relive the game here.

Re: We have a football team too... Guru's UConn Huskies (NCAA 14)

New QB, Same Success

UConn has little trouble in 42-24 win over Red Raiders

Royce Archie breaks a couple tackles on one of his receptions.

Ed. Note: I actually simmed the results you see here. I started playing the game and taking pics like I usually would, but the game froze in the fourth quarter and I didn't want to sit down and play it again. Thus, I apologize for the kinda crummy write-up to come.

Sometimes in life new things cause us problems. This adage, however, was not the case for our UConn Huskies on October 3, 2020. QB Isaac Jackson had a great day in leading UConn for the first time as the permanent starter, passing for an efficient 26 of 35 for 320 yards and 3 TD's through the air, while adding 58 more yards on the ground in UConn's 42-24 beating of visiting Texas Tech.

With the win, the eighth-ranked Huskies move to 5-1 and keep within striking distance of the Big 12 East lead as we approach the midway point in the season.

UConn had been on the road for four straight games, and showed how eager they were to return to the home crowd as they jumped out to a 20-0 lead late in the second quarter to put the heat on Tech early. In this span, Jackson threw for two TD's -- one to Kevin Lacey and the other to Jackson's favorite target Rashad Harris, the first of his 12 receptions on the afternoon.

Tech would stay in the game for a while, but mostly thanks to the exploits of star tailback Courtney Hicks. The dynamic senior ran for 181 yards on just 18 carries, adding three touchdowns on the ground. His 75 yard TD scamper just after the halftime break closed the gap to 20-10.

However, UConn and their young secondary stymied Tech after that point. Tech's air raid game and QB Justin Correia were held in check all game, limiting his ability to pass down field while shutting down their receivers most of the day. Aside from Hicks, Di'Ontay Flay was the only Red Raider receiver to tally more than three catches, and the only one to catch a touchdown on the day.

On the flip side, however, Jackson and Harris (in particular) had little trouble with the annually porous Red Raider D, which was a good thing because star tailback Luke Williamson missed a chunk of the game with a dislocated finger that was being tended to. Williamson returned to run for a touchdown that put the game well out of reach, but still only accounted for 53 yards on the ground. Williamson's finger should be healed in a couple days, and he should be good to go when UConn travels to West Virginia next week.

I talked to Isaac after the game and I'm pleased with how well he played. He seems even more appreciative of getting this chance now that he's actually gotten it. I'm happy for him.

A trip to Morgantown up next to see West Virginia! We'll look to exorcise the demons of 2018 when we see you next.

I love looking at all these screenshots and seeing a sold out Rent! I hope one day in the near future, maybe by the end of the season, I can see that in person. I was at the Michigan game in 2013, which I think was the last sell out.

Well when you're as successful as Diaco has been and when you're a top-ranked team, you're bound to sell out quick!

HARLEE! Glad to see you back here bud and I'm glad you're catching/caught up to where we are with the new season.

The Reid hate never dies hahaha.. I'm more of a Michigan fan though so I can take pride in Ohio State losing to San Jose State last week, but you guys did win last year's national title ... so....

Maryland is really off to a great start.. though you lost to Michigan last week, I hope you guys can keep it up and make your way to a head coaching job this coming offseason. You've really got things going in the right direction in the Big 10.
