CADE CANNON TOSSES A TD PASS IN A WIN OVER INDIANA

Through the first three weeks of the season Cade Cannon and the Gopher's offense has been wildly entertaining. Minnesota is 3-0 and they have scored 52, 59 and 51 points in their first three games.

Cannon has thrown for nine touchdowns and ran for seven while turning the ball over just twice. That's incredible production. He has clearly improved as a passer since 2014 but still uses his legs to punish defenses as well as he did last season.

"It's clear that it was important to him to improve." Offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover told me yesterday. "He was in film or on the weights or throwing with guys constantly this offseason. We had to limit how much he was working with some of the receivers because they'd just be wore out. Then he recruiting whoever to come run routes. he even had our punters and kickers out there."

"Just get better every day." Cannon explained when I asked him what his offseason philosophy was. "If you're not trying to do that then move aside."

With Cannon under center (or in the shotgun or pistol) Minnesota looks like they can hang with anyone, even the big boys in the conference. We'll find out next week when #2 Ohio State and Cardale Jones come into town.
