OMG! I just finished my draft and I noticed Thomas Davis wasn't on the team anymore and saw that he retired!! WTF! The game never told me in the news section. I had to go to transactions to find out. Oh man this sucks terribly!

Same thing happened for me with Jason Witten, if I would have known I would have signed a TE in free agency, I had to draft one but the draft wasn't deep at all for TEs. My starting TE is a 74 overall.

There's no way to prevent a player from retiring is there?

Yeah but still. EA should fix this or add some feature that allows some players to play longer.

Why? It's part of the NFL, players retire. I don't think it needs to be fixed, maybe add a persuasion option so you can try getting them to play an other year but it's part of the game, players call it career.

But some are not realistic. TD wouldn't retire yet and neither would Tom Brady after 1 year. I do like that idea of offering a contract to persuade them to stay.
