This is absolutely not true. If anything they should make it optional....but not eliminate it all together

I think that adding player skills would do a lot to differentiate players, much like NBA 2ks skills, even closely rated players can feel very different thanks to them. High strength power rushers could have a skill that can give anywhere from like 5-15% chance to just push the offensive lineman straight back, or a guy like JJ Watt who's known for swatting balls at the line would have a higher chance of succesful swats. Offensively players like Peyton Manning could have a higher cadence and it woud allow him to make more changes at the line, compared to a guy like Roethlisberger who may not have that ability but would be stronger in the pocket and harder to take down with a weak rusher.

Obviously there's other ways they could implement these things (like having ratings that matter.) but I feel like it would be really interesting and do a lot to make players unique without making them absolutely dominant.
