Madden 18 Franchise PSA (Shopmaster)

• One misnomer is that only Sim guys play franchise. Plenty of competitive players or CFM's will be playing on Competitive setting when M18 comes out.
• Shop did an interview with Rex but the audio didn't record or come out but he said that it didn't take going too in-depth of franchise to not ask all the fan questions because he didn't feel it was fair to have a whole interview of "no, that's not in, no that's not in, no that's not in."
• Not a normal year of development. Says Frostbite transition, Longshot, and NBA Live series impacted the things they were and weren't able to do in M18 and specifically CFM.
• Rex talked about resources not being allocated and said John White has actually been over working on NBA Live 18. The long term goal is to get two franchise modes up to speed with each other so that when one gets something, the other gets it and vice-versa. They want to share the best technology and the best way to do that was to not do much with M18 and let NBA Live get up to speed.
• Says Draft Board is in but thing is that it has no logic behind it. Can prioritize players but if you have two RB's at the top, if they're available it will take both of them regardless of logic. Shop isn't sure how well it work.
• No CFM shown at EA Play
• Tuning for regression has been a pain for a lot of players. Rex said Tom Brady won't retire after his first year in the league. No one has seen it so it's hard to say whether it's better or worse.
• Talks about Coach Adjustments about as franchise enhancement. Says it's not just a franchise feature. It's a gameplay feature that goes across all modes. Says he thinks that will be something franchise guys like.
• Off-ball injuries. Says it will be interesting to see how they get hurt. Shop likes to see animations when guys get hurt.
• Not a lot of CFM info he can give. Hasn't played or seen it this year. There's not a lot of stuff going on with CFM this year.
• Talks about 65% of players playing Madden and that the community should use numbers to their advantage and shouldn't be divided between Sim-Competitive within CFM. Competitive players want all the same things in CFM as Sim guys do.
• Play Now Live. Says it's a way to pick up and start a franchise from that week. Unlocks Live Content Updates coming to CFM in the future. Probably not this year.
• Community needs to come together and decide what kind Live updates we want to see in the mode.
• Not a lot to get into. Says whatever you have to ask; Did they do anything to Gameplanning? No. Did they do anything to Practice Mode? No. Did they do anything to Scouting? No. Did they do anything to the Draft itself? Well, they added a draft board and that's about it.
• Says a lot of people will poo-poo this and say that the Devs don't care, etc. Thinks it goes higher than that. Got the feeling a lot of the Devs didn't want to do the story mode.

I don't like that the reason CFM got overlooked this year is because they wanted to get NBA Live's franchise up to speed.

Why do people think this still? Blows my mind. The devs don't make the decisions. The project managers and directors do. They all sit in a conference room and put on a whiteboard what they're going to work on for the year.

They say "This is our timeline, this is our budget and resources, so this is what we're working on."

I hate it when people say "Devs don't care". Not directing this toward you, was talking about people in general.

On the last bullet I made a typo that said Shop said the Devs don't care when he said that people would say that Devs don't care. I think that's what he was going off of.

So basically, blame the shareholders for whatever we don't have this year and not the devs (scapegoats)
