QB Archetyes

I drafted a QB with the number one pick, who had a lead archetype of Strong Arm. I progressed him so that his lead archetype became Improviser. However, now that his archetypes are 99 across the board, Improviser has become the third archetype, after Strong Arm and Field General. Can anyone help by telling me which ratings I need to edit, in order to reduce the Strong Arm and Field General archetype ratings? Cheers

I would turn throw power and medium accuracy down a few points to lower those two archetypes.

Just change your scheme to a strong arm type. Shifts the primary archetype to match if all the same ovr. Or change it to any other and back to strong arm based scheme, resets the archetype.

To expand on what Mattanite wrote: when you change your head coach’s offensive or defensive scheme, the game automatically does a tie-break for all offensive or defensive players on your roster so that, in the event that a player’s scheme fit OVR is tied with their best OVR, the game considers the scheme fit OVR to be that player’s best OVR. You don’t need to edit player ratings to restore the scheme fit.

In the case of your quarterback, for example: assuming your offensive scheme is Air Raid (which iirc requires Improviser QBs), you would change your head coach’s offensive scheme to some different value (let’s go with West Coast Zone Run), back out of the scheme settings screen, then re-enter the scheme setting screen and change the offensive scheme back (to Air Raid) and finally back out again. You should now see that the QB is a scheme fit for Improviser regardless if other OVRs are equal to his Improviser OVR.
