Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Hey I am outsider. I keep hearing situation between Sanchez and Girardi. I remembered something this pass summer. Remembered Girardi was a catcher. A self made man. Nothing ever was given to him. He was a backup and darn good at defense. Which I am hearing that is knock on Sanchez. He wants to bat on offense and defense. LOL Good luck!

The talk that Sanchez is a terrible catcher is hot take central. He's not Mike Piazza 2.0. He's a very good pitch framer and has a cannon for an arm and extremely accurate at that

He's got to work on blocking pitches. He's naturally gifted. If he works at it. And he will. He could be a top 3 defensive catcher in this league. No joke. He certainly has the skills.

High key perturbed they interview guys like Beltran with no experience and not the guy routinely referred to as one of the greatest baseball minds of the generation.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Let's be clear, Alex would be a great candidate IF you remove all the negativity that comes with his signing.

I can't see Cashman wanting to bro it up with him in the front office. I think he's relieved to finally get rid of the guy. He doesn't want him back.

Plus, while I understand Alex's desire to manage the team, I think he should just ride the television wave for a few years. It's been great for him.

Being the manager is going to open up old wounds way too quickly. And I can't see a majority of Yankees fans being okay with him here.

I think Alex is the next next manager.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

When I first saw people recommending him, I thought it was too soon...but if they're seriously considering Beltran, I can't buy that. I'm mostly going on experience. A-Rod basically killed my love of sports and even I'm at the point where I can get over it and accept him back.

It seems clear they aren't into it. Cash has closed off the interviews, says he talked to A-Rod but that A-Rod didn't express interest in the position, which I don't believe for a second.

If Beltran gets the job I'm throwing a stack of papers in the air. A-Rod already mentored DiDi. He took Gary to lunch, and then the boy came back a beast. I don't have an issue with most of the people considered, but Beltran? Aaron Boone? Wut?

I can't believe I'm arguing for A-Rod to get an interview in a world where Jeter is looking like a villain as an owner. What world is this?

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Beltran or Alex, I think it's the same return. The Yankees will prefer an inexperienced guy for the reasons I've been saying: front office calls the shots.

They just want a good face, a rah rah guy, and someone the media will find charming. Every interview (except Wedge. I don't get that one) fits this criteria.

I would bet that Alex and Cashman talked and Cashman convinced Alex it was too soon. And he would be right.

Keep in mind too soon isn't about experience. It's about separating himself from Alex the baseball player which a lot of people hate. Alex needs to be known as the smart guy from the booth that is becoming a manager. He's not that person yet and there will be too much drama.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

I guess I feel like he's already that guy. All I see about A-Rod these days from baseball fans is praise from his Fox stuff. Casuals will never see it because he's on Fox Sports lol.

In other news, Rob Thomson going to the Phillies. I don't blame him. Imagine being with the team for 28 years, thinking, finally, here's my shot, and then them going with someone else, possibly someone with no experience coaching. Should've followed the millenial playbook, new job every 3 years. #NoLoyalty

My new hope is the Giants bench coach, Muelens.

Beltran's been told he won't be the manager.

Down to the 2003 kid and Muelens.

Boone.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Ugh Boone? Well at least I don't have to hear him on the espn broadcast anymore.

I'm gonna give him a chance, but I'm not sure relieving Girardi for Boone is a good move.
