Is there a problem with Start Today mode?

This is a real shame I finally decided I wanted to get back into 2k after messing around with some Play Now earlier and I cant even play a franchise without starting this season over.

Damn, I started a Cavs myleague (I never play with a stacked team but made an exception) to help deal with the pre-finals hype. Just finished the NBA finals today (Cavs in 7!) but saw there were no free agents. Wtf, what a letdown...

This is unfortunate. That's why I made sure to make a separate start today save that I could use as a base file when the conference finals were still taking place. I just load it up & save as onto an empty file. You just never know what could happen with this 2k in particular. Hopefully issues like this don't make it to 18'.

I might be wrong, but Start Today has always been linked to regular season only ... once its finished, the mode aint accounting for playoffs nor offseason for its starting point.

It was working fine up until a couple days ago. Now, when you get to the off-season, there are NO free agents. Everyones contract is extended until next year.

This wasn't an issue before, don't know how this even happened.

This was an issue when the playoffs first started but then 2k fixed it.

I'm kicking myself for deleting my save
