Using the shot stick to shoot right/left handed lay ups

I always have trouble with this. I am driving to the hoop right down the middle of the lane. The Center drifts from the right block for the defensive rotation. So if I am driving the middle with help coming from the right block the obvious move is a simple left handed layup.

Why won't it ever give it to me. I have had times where I hit 'left' on the shot stick and it gives me a reverse! I am on the 2K camera so when I drive the middle the hoop is directly infront of me.

Other times I will be on the left block going up for a layup and I hit the stick to the left and I end up doing a right handed finger roll that gets swatted because it needed to be a lefty layup.

I have no other problems with the shot stick. I can string together some nasty post moves but I can't consistently shoot right/left handed layups at will.

Edit - 1 more question. Is it possible to 'walk the dog' with a human passing the ball in to another human? Me and a buddy can do it with the CPU passing but not with one of us.

Let me get it out of the way right now.......

sambf12 is going to come in here and say that you should try the absolute
...HAHA

But you know that if your pressing left and getting reverse all the time. That means you must be pressing left towards the rim.

I've actually looked down at the controller and watched myself put the left stick to 9 oclock and I end up with a right handed layup as I am driving directly at the basket. I know I am going directly to the left because I am facing the basket. Does turbo have any affect?

What kind of reverse are you doing? Or what layup animation are you getting when you go up with the right hand?

Isn't the absolute only for defense?

Re: Using the shot stick to shoot right/left handed lay ups

Its the real ugly reverse that usually happens out of a post move on the baseline.

Other times I get a right handed finger roll right infront of the basket instead of going to the left.

Sometimes I will hit left on the stick and my guy will do a right handed layup on the right side. That probably happens more then the reverse or the finger roll, and is most frustrating when the left is wide open and I get blocked because I get sucked into a right handed layup animation.

What about layup rating? Or off hand dribble? Do those ratings come into play here?
