It had something to do with them owning parcial space in santa clara. It was also far cheaper and their practice field is right their.

That is part of the reason.

But also, San Francisco doesn't have a lot of open real estate to build a brand new stadium, especially when you consider that a new stadium also includes building up the surrounding areas. Not to mention, Candlestick isn't located in the best of neighborhoods and it isn't very accessible to public transportation.

I look up Google maps. Turns out there aren't much space to build a new stadium nearby.

Have they considered building one adjacent to Candlestick or was that also out of the question?

Santa Clara just seems so far away from San Francisco.

Finally. Candlestick is a dump. It has a nice history, but it's long outlived.

I was gonna say....

Anyways, real nice looking stadium. The picture threw me off at first with that green roof thing. I thought there was an additional field on a roof or something.
