Ugly, but at least it wasn't the complete collapse familiar in recent years. It's early, but Phaneuf has been looking like an elite player through two games this year -- this is a good sign for the Leafs.

Big game in Winnipeg tomorrow. Hopefully they start off with a loss.

The tribute to Rypien gave me chills.

Winnipeg is rockin'.

Wish I hadn't missed the beginning of the Jets game...tuning in now.

Moving right along... Flyers made Brodeur and Co. look very average tonight. Early chemistry and I'm pretty sure Bryzgalov just got them something they didn't have all last year... a shutout!
Easy Breezy Bryzgalov was a smart move, goaltending was their weakest link. There were 3 or 4 really good chances Boston had that had it been last year's Flyer goaltenders in net would have prolly been an easy 4-2 or so win for Boston. Jagr looks like he's in great shape as well at least starting out here, let's see how much he has in the tank going forward, but there's no doubt, Flyers are a contender big time.

Disappointing loss for the Pens tonight. 1 for 8 on the power play is brutal. Even more brutal is not scoring on a 5 minute major. Oh well. I'll take a 2-0-1 record on this road trip.

All these early games today because it's a "holiday"?
