22.35 Real Madrid manager Bernd Schuster is rumoured to be lining up a move for a striker with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Karim Benzema offered as possible targets.

Welcome to Friday's transfer clockwatch Thursday's news was dominated by David Bentley's big money move to Spurs. What do you think of Tottenham's new-look line-up?

Ronaldo latest: Reports in today's tabloids are once again linking Ronaldo with a move away from Old Trafford. The Mirror says he is going to demand a switch to Real Madrid when he returns to Manchester next week.

07.15 Aston Villa's Gareth Barry is not a happy bunny according to today's papers. The midfielder is seething Villa have blocked his move to Anfield after Liverpool failed to come up with a satisfactory offer. More talks are expected with Villa boss Martin O'Neill.

It's not good news for Andy Johnson either as his move to Fulham is being held up by a problem with his medical, at least according to reports. Everton are hamstrung until the deal goes through.

07.40 A number of papers are predicting a Chelsea bid for Werder Bremen playmaker Diego. The Blues have all but given up hope of landing Robinho.

08.36 Former Manchester United goalkeeper Tommy Lee has signed a one-year deal with Chesterfield.

08.57 Tranmere have raided neighbours Liverpool for a second time by signing midfielder Charlie Barnett on a one-year contract.

09.12 Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler's agent claims he is planning to meet Arsenal to discuss a possible transfer.

09.32 Andy Johnson's proposed move to Fulham has been delayed because of a hitch in the player's medical, skysports.com understands. As a result the West London club are believed to be keen to renegotiate terms of payment to Everton.

09.48 Andrei Arshavin's agent insists the player is just waiting to complete his move to Tottenham.

10.11 Liverpool goalkeeper Charles Itandje has revealed he has turned down a move to Galatasaray and is holding out for a move to Paris Saint Germain.

10.30 Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of Kaspars Gorkss from Blackpool for an undisclosed fee.

10.58 Marseille head coach Eric Gerets expects Djibril Cisse to remain at the Stade Velodrome this season. The former Liverpool man has attracted interest from the Premier League.
