Re: The Transfer Thread

Sevilla midfielder Seidu Keita set to join FC Barcelona for 14 million euros. The link also reaffirms Barca's interest in his teammate Daniel Alves...

...which is further fueled based on Gianluca Zambrotta's impending move to AC Milan.

Re: The Transfer Thread

Three stories I am sick of hearing because I hear them over and over again and nothing happens:

1. Drogba and E'to'o

2. Sheva

3. R10 and Zambrotta

Obviously this assumes the health of guys like RVP and Rosicky, which is anything but a given. This would leave Vela and Walcott in roles where they could be more successful, namely as speedy wing-oriented attacking options off of the bench or the occasional spot start. I think both guys can be good (maybe very good or even great) players, but they're not ready to be just yet.

The real problem is finding a dogfighter for the center of midfield to pair with Cesc. I'd also like to see them pursue a keeper to replace Lehmann. Fabianski may be good in time, but he's very young and short on experience which is not a good combination for a team with title aspirations. If I had my druthers (no idea what that means but I love the expression), Wenger would sign another attacking player, a defensive minded CM, an experienced defender and maybe a GK, all with the aim of providing depth for a team that will play 60+ games next year...
That's the thing. If they don't bring in another midfielder, that question mark spot has to go to either Walcott or Vela. I do agree, though, that another midfielder would be ideal. Boy, it would be nice still having Flamini.

Re: The Transfer Thread

^ The ??? spot would be Gilberto Silva for now...

---

Alberto Gilardino to Fiorentina seems imminent...hopefully he can recover his pre-Milan form by re-uniting with former Parma manager Cesare Prandelli and former Parma team-mate Adrian Mutu.

Valeri Bojinov to join Genoa?

Joseba Llorente becomes Villarreal's latest signing.

Ricardo Oliveira could play second division football next season after relegated Zaragoza made his loan move from Milan permanent.

Re: The Transfer Thread

This one strikes me as a little odd, but Gio set to earn his Spurs?

Also, Lyon forward Sidney Govou has stated his desire to move to England. The story reports that Pompey are the front-runner, with Harry Redknapp in attendance at the French Cup Final when Govou scored the winning goal.

Re: The Transfer Thread

I posted it in the "Other Leagues" thread but here it is again anyway:

Looks like Mancini out, Mourinho in at Inter.
