Animated Gopher to Blame for NASCAR Ratings Drop?

I tend to doubt that the stupid Gopher is causing much of a ratings drop, but I certainly can't stand Digger. I'm glad he's gone, but no matter how stupid, it wouldn't keep me from watching a race.

but still, to blame rating on a gopher character FOX uses is laughable. It's a number of other reasons that they won't want to admit to, so they deflect the blame on this. FOX uses that stupid NFL robot for their shows, but people aren't going to say it has any significant impact on ratings. They even sell a toy of it..

But they didn't create an animated series for the robot like they did with the gopher and run it during the pre race/game show.

But I wouldn't blame Digger for the ratings drop. Nascar just isn't as popular as before.

Re: Animated Gopher to Blame for NASCAR Ratings Drop?

I certainly don't watch NASCAR anymore after being a big supporter throughout the 90s.

There are several reasons for it, but an animated gopher (haven't seen it) seems unlikely to be a bigger issue than all of the many other things that are turning people off from NASCAR.
