The Rock to be Featured on the Cover of WWE 2K14

According to WWE's EVP, Stephanie McMahon, The Rock will be featured on the cover of WWE 2K14.

No release date or specific consoles supporting the game have been announced yet. FYI: WWE 13 was released on October 30th, 2012.

In late February, 2K and WWE entered into an exclusive multi-year agreement granting 2K the exclusive worldwide rights to publish the WWE video game franchise across all major platforms and distribution channels. The series, which will continue to be developed by Yukes in Japan, will combine the studio�s gameplay with 2K�s commitment to authenticity in WWE �14.

What a downgrade from WWE 13. It'll probably help sell the game though. Probably a very good business move by 2K and WWE.

Nope. 2K and THQ are publishers.

Yukes has been the developer for years now.

They're keeping Yukes because the WWE still wanted to release WWE 14, so 2K didn't have enough time to make their own game. That's why they also brought some of the THQ staff in as well.

Actually I heard that the box is huge but the game will only play for 15 minutes.

I'm not upset by this. Rock is WWE's biggest star right now, and current WWE champion, so why not have him be the cover star?

For me it's a downgrade. However, for WWE and 2K it will likely be an upgrade. Perhaps I should have put "in my opinion" after my sentence.

Except for it not really being an opinion on this one. This one isn't really subjective. There's no, downgrade of putting a bigger star and money maker on the cover of your video game. That's like having Kevin Garnett on the cover of your NBA game one year and then Michael Jordan the next and someone saying it's a downgrade because they don't like Michael Jordan. You can try to protect it as your opinion, but it's not an opinion that Michael Jordan on the cover of the game as opposed to Garnett is a better move, it's a fact.
