Lamar Jackson - what people aren't saying:
Posted on March 8, 2023 at 03:01 PM.
I've been a Ravens fan forever - 96 to now - I know this organization and how they roll. They have never valued QBs more than any other position. They won their first Super Bowl and let Trent Dilfer walk. Flacco wins another Super Bowl, doesn't even decline in ability much, happens to get hurt, Lamar does good - bye bye, Joe - hit the road. I suffered through way too many years with Kyle Boller, and they could have really dished out money for prime cut FA QBs right and left...but never did until Steve McNair got thrown to the curb by his own team pretty much and took a 4th round pick for him. All of this should be taken into account when dealing with anything of a sketchy, possibly bigheaded QB (not saying he doesn't have great talent, just saying he may be diva like - people can be both - see A A Ron). This is absolutely not the organization that gives .02 f##ks about everything a QB wants per contract demands.

Greg Roman leaving is way, way more of a big deal than people are realizing, too. That man has been a thorn in the sides of fans for a long time, but now, finally, now he is out. That man absolutely only had one big fan keeping him around, and that was Lamar Jackson. Roman and Lamar enabled each other to keep that style of offense going. Fans hate it, though. No running first QB has won a Super Bowl, and everyone knows it. Throwing the ball is a big part of being a QB, but that offense looked like it was this impossible thing to ever achieve. It's compounded as stupid when this report comes out about how accurate and technically sound Lamar is when he passes the ball - so knowing that, WHY would you perpetuate an offense where you don't throw more!?!? It's beyond stupid. Fans are sick of it. Fans are over it.

Everything about Lamar not having an agent, the Ravens are able to passive-aggressively use to their advantage. They can low-ball him without wise rebuttal. They can low-ball tag him and ensure a trade haul. They can absolutely trade him where and when they feel like it because there's no agent-put-in-place trade clauses preventing anything. Lamar has NO leverage at all. The Ravens are letting him kind of think he's in control, but no...the Ravens are in control and will win out.

Lamar Jackson is as good as gone. Even if he decides to play for the Ravens this year, it's going to be feeble because they like Huntley a lot more.
