There were six Heisman finalists in all, but many people wonder why five of them even showed up. The Heisman race was all but over by the time the College Football regular season ended. Jameis Winston was the obvious winner after not being charged for sexual assault, as all the other Heisman candidates had basically faded away. As an Alabama fan it pains me to say that AJ McCarron did not have a chance, but the final vote count speaks for itself.

Jameis was a truly incredible QB in his Freshman season, with a 67.9% completion percentage (237 completions on 349 attempts), 3,820 passing yards, 38 TDs, just 10 INTs, a longest pass of 94 yards, and a QB rating of 190.1. Winston was a truly electrifying player in only his first year of play, and he has a chance to cap off this remarkable season with a BCS National Championship in Pasadena. After winning the Heisman, Winston said, "I always made an initiative that every single day, when I wake up, [I'm going to] get better every single day." He certainly has succeeded in that so far as the newest member of The Heisman House has the Seminoles on the brink of a National Championship.
