#1 LSU v. #2 Bama

Yea, we all know they are in the same conference and the same division. And they play each other every year. But who has a better argument than Bama to play in the NCG?

Let's just be serious here. Boise is given a fair shot every year like everyone it's even to the point that Boise starts out in the Top 10 or the Top 5 for the last 4 years. Yet they lost one game which they know more than anyone else that losing even once hurts any chance for them. Besides the only game people like to point out is the UGA game and LSU dismantled a HOT UGA (10 game win streak). Boise struggled to put them away 35-21.

Oklahoma St. Now first thing I want to say is I feel for the families that lost someone during the plane crash. But there are no sympathy points in college football. People felt sorry for Penn St. after Paterno was fired. Very few people felt sorry for OSU after Tressell was fired. But honestly you take the field to play the game. Doesn't matter whats going on outside of the stadium the other team want's to win. NOW I am not saying that OK St., Gundy, or Players are using that as an excuse but to the FANS sorry there is still no excuse. Also if you look at the Iowa St. game, yes, we know Big 12 is known for high powered offenses, tons of passing yards, and somehow no defense to match. But 37 to 31 against an unranked team that hasn't been relevant since Seneca Wallace compared to a 9 to 6 overtime lost to the #1 team in the nation. I am sorry where I am missing the comparison.

Stanford. Well sorry you lose late (much like Ok St.) you shot yourself in the foot. Oregon same thing. If there is any other possible replacement out there please bring them to light.

In closing, all in all the NCG that will probably be nicknamed "The Controversial Rematch" has been scheduled good. As an SEC fan I would love to see a playoff I mean who out there is it to be scared of? But until the powers that be drop the BCS (which it probably won't happen for another 4 or 5 years) we are stuck with the system we have.

I would have preferred an LSU Vs OSU game, but it is hard to argue against LSU VS Alabama being the two best teams in the country. LSU VS Alabama came down to the wire in game one, and like you said, the other teams shot themsleves in the foot. I think this is the rare time that a rematch is in order.

oklahoma state has a valid argument. big 12 has 6 ranked teams to the sec's 4. oklahoma state beat 7 ranked teamsto alabama's 3. sos is higher for oklahoma state as well andd alabama didnt play georgiaor south carolina and played a fcs school so the only have 10 wins vs fbs.

bcs is a joke and it only faves the sec old system was flawed but was wide open anything could happen heck byu even won a title. every sport in the ncaa has a playoff except fbs so arguing the extra game theory is bs the lower divisions have 20 and 24 team playoffs so the season goes long. its just a money grab with no regards to true competition especially with this conference realignment mess

Schedule means nothing if the teams you play aren't that impressive. And to be honest Oklahoma State's schedule isn't that tough. They had a high rated schedule during the Pre Season. Not to mention Who plays defense in the high scoring BIG 12..? The conference is weak however the truly only tough team Ok St. played was Oklahoma but yet they lost to Iowa St. in overtime in a high scoring game. OK St. shot themselves in the foot late. While I will agree outside of Bama they had the best shot. When the only lost you come by is to the BEST team in the nation and you only lose by 3 points in a great defensive game there is no question in my mind that Bama actually deserved to play for the Title.

The BCS is not a joke...once you sit down to understand it you will realize everbody has a shot to win ask Gene Chizik. And it doesn't favor the SEC....Oklahoma had a chance to win it all yet they lost twice, all Boise had to do was stay undefeated but they couldn't, Stanford was next in line but they lost to Oregon who turned around and lost to USC. Yea I hear that playoff cry all the time and while it will be a good idea...my question to is will that really decide who is the best team in the nation? NOPE...if LSU were to get Boise and Houston before playing in the National title game then the seeding would favor the SEC and people would be up in arms about that. People want to see the two best teams play in the National Title Game....a playoff doesn't decide that.

And if the BCS favores the SEC why did Miami, OSU, USC, Oklahoma, Florida St, VA Tech make it in? Not to mention Oklahoma, USC, OSU, and Florida St have made it multiple times.

As a long time Bama fan, I dread this rematch. I saw something in the first game I've never seen in 35 years of following the Tide;
I saw Alabama "Break". Bama won the first qtr of the first game, but was struggling more and more as the game wore on. This is because, yes, Bama has stars. And those Stars play the whole game. LSU does not have the big name stars, but they do have talent! And it's the depth of that talent that beat Alabama in the first game. When you have one team playing it's starters the full 60 mins, and another team that can rotate players in and out without losing much, it spells big trouble for that first team eventually.
I see the game being extremely close the first half, but Saban will feel pressure to gamble one time too many, and LSU will turn that gamble into points.
And once the bough breaks, it'll be off to the races for LSU.
Final Score LSU 35- Alabama 10.
