Five new rules (with apologies to Bill Maher)

1. Beyonce must write a song about how she's 58 and still single because she's too damn picky and full of herself. Single Ladies has to be one of the most obnoxious songs I've heard in a long time.

2. New song writers must actually write new songs, and I'm not even talking about re-makes. First it was Rihanna stealing from Soft Cell, then Sean Kingston ripping off Ben E. King, and now there's a new song (I don't know the artist) that just took the background music from Time of the Season by ? and the Mysterians and added new (lame) lyrics. Pathetic.

3. Regarding my last blog post: it applies to Paul Krugman and his ilk as well.

4. Cell phones need to take a page from cigarettes and start making your ear turn orange from continual use. I doubt people would spend every free moment talking on the phone if it made you look part Oompa-Loompa.

5. No more pharmaceutical commercials. Why do I need a 30 second spot to tell me to "ask my doctor?" Isn't HE supposed to be the expert?

Beyonce is just obnoxious in general IMHO. I also can't stand her other recent single, "If I Were A Boy". Way to generalize men, as if all guys act the way she portrays them in the song. So it's our fault that you eschew the nice guys for the idiots? Then you have the temerity to complain about how you're being treated when you knew what you were getting into.

Couldn't agree more about today's "artists" ripping off old beats. There is a painful lack of originality in much of today's music.
