NBA 2K13 Mini Trailer Analysis

2K Sports made a big announcement yesterday with a video trailer saying rapper Jay Z will be the executive producer of NBA 2K13. They also released the soundtrack for the game which was mostly handpicked by Jay Z.

Even though the trailer is only 24 seconds long and is mostly used just announce Jay Z as the executive producer, the video does show some gameplay. Here is what I saw from the video:

0:06: New dunk for Michael Jordan...fine tuning on Michael Jordan Dunk package could of been made

0:06: Lighting is brighter and graphics look better(look at seats). Jersey also looks more realistic for classic Bulls

0:07: Disregard KD 3 shoes

0:08: Kevin Durant's face looks slightly cleaner than 2K12. Still practically the same

0:08: Kevin Durant's form still doesn't look like his real form

0:09: Blake Griffin still same hang on dunk from last year that he has never done in real life. Same Dunk package?

0:11: Derrick Rose face is the exact same as 2K12. Needs work

0:11: Bulls court reflection and lighting is fantastic: Comparable to all courts in NBA 2k9 and
NBA Live games

0:12: Cover will say that it is produced by Jay Z. First time rapper name is on NBA game cover

0:12: Quick glimpse of NORMAL Kevin Durant dunk, not a pump reverse dunk. Dunk package for KD?

0:13: UNDER ARMOUR???? (Bulls court flash)

0:14: Under Armour again at the back (Blake Griffin 360)

I understand that this is a really early build and that they weren't trying to show new gameplay stuff, but this is what you can take from the trailer

The trailer (Hopefully) wont resemble actual gameplay.

2K uses filters in all their trailers to make them look more dramatic, they've done it every year since 2K9.

That Jordan dunk has been in the game for years too. Its one of those dunks you can choose under the player specific dunks. The player models all look the same which is why I agree it's an early build, More like NBA 2k12.5 And thats the same sig shot Durant started with in 2k12 before they changed it.

The trailer will not resemble gameplay almost guaranteed, also you can still tell the graphics look better even when you look at the trailers which are made more dramatic. The Jordan Dunk may be changed from the player signature dunks to just his dunk package, and they still have that Durant shot now for 2K12. I agree it's more like NBA 2K12.5.
