Monday Press Conference

Coach Shanahan: I wanna thank everyone for coming. It was a tough game last week, never feels good to come away with a loss like that, no matter what time of year it is. We will have to practice extra hard this week to correct the problems from our last game, that is for sure.

First order of business, I had to cut 4 more young men from this football team today. For me, this is the hardest part of the season, because all these guys put everything they have out there. If you watched the game this weekend we obviously did not play defense very well. Our tackling in particular was sub par throughout, and I think you will see that evident in who is not here any longer.

Moving on, we have the Colts on the schedule this week, so it won't get any easier, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Going in to practice this week I don't see much changing, except I do plan on rotating John Beck and Tim Hightower in to the first team slots this week to try and spark the offense. Rex and Ryan will come in with the second team, everything else will be the same. This is a huge week for these guys as I have to let go of 8 more players next monday, so I expect this to be the best week of practice we have had.
