- * SS Addison Russell [1st OAK, 5th MLB]
Twenty year old Addison Russell possesses the tools to excel at the big league level, along with the work ethic that is required to realize these tools. Defensively, he has a plus-plus glove at shortstop, and he'll consistently rank as one of the best defensive shortstops in the game. Offensively, he has plenty of pop in his bat. He is also very disciplined at the plate, taking 61 BBs last season in Stockton.
This year, he'll be playing at AA Midland, where Oakland expects him to excel. If he continues along his developmental path, then he'll be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come.
* 3B Daniel Robertson [2nd OAK; 58th MLB]
Daniel Robertson's primary asset is his outstanding defense. Offensively, he has the potential to be a solid, if unspectacular, everyday player. His primary skillset is his ability to hit into the gaps. He hit 21 2Bs in 451 plate appearances last season in A-ball Beloit. Oakland expects him to be a contender for a roster spot by the end of next season.
* 1B Matt Olson [3rd OAK; 81st MLB]
Matt has plus power, hitting 23 HRs last season for Beloit. That being said, his limitation is avoiding outs at the plate. While he did take 72 walks last season, he struck out 148 times. His success at the big league level depends on his ability to make contact with the ball. At this time, he is a 19 year old project playing for Stockton.
* CF BJ Boyd [4th OAK; -- MLB]
Tremendous glove at CF. Offensively, he makes solid contact to the gaps. For Short-A Vermont, he had a .285/.375/.442 line, hitting 13 2Bs in 300 PAs. He has the potential to be a future replacement for Coco Crisp.
* OF Billy McKinney [5th OAK; -- MLB]
Drafted last season, McKinney will likely be #2 on this very soon. He has the ability to make solid contact to the gaps, which will lead to many extra base hits. He begins the season playing for Beloit as a 19 year old.
