Mets end Nationals winning streak at 5, shut them out 1-0

Last night's late inning game must have carried over to today, as the Nationals looked punchless all afternoon, making Johan Santana look like the Cy Young winner of yesteryear. He made quick work of the Nationals, keeping them to only 4 hits, and striking out 7 for the complete game shutout win. Stephen Strasburg was tagged with the tough luck 1-run loss, going 7 frames and striking out 5. The Nationals have finished their 6-game road trip and look to open a long 11 game homestand with their home opener tomorrow at Nationals Park vs. the Cincinnati Reds at 7:05 p.m.
