Only requirement is that each player must vote at least once. Now if someone other than you Jonathan were to come around before the next block and vote it would count to the individual vote standings, but have no impact on the overall scoreboard.

Not sure. Maybe there are no wolves yet?

Just guessing.

sometimes it is best to not overthink things. The thing that led me to believe they are wolves were the comment about to many people volunteering and how those who did volunteer need to keep it to themselves. Seemed obvious to me.

Some tribes may know. Also, some tribes may not have ANYBODY who volunteered.
Both of those possibilities are what make that theory a little too unlikely in my opinion.

more a vote to keep a pile on to happening to one of our guys.
Lathum
02-07-2007, 10:25 AM
Oh and also before everyone leaves, I need at least one person from each tribe to send me a PM to be a "volunteer". You may not post anywhere that you have volunteered. If a tribe fails to have anyone volunteer there will be consequences. Of course too many people volunteering for this unknown thing could be bad too. So just how adventurous do you feel?
.
Abe Sargent

Well, you know, at first I found this suspicious, because why vote for a guy who isn't here, because you can't do the whole Counterspell thing with it (see: Magic the gathering), but, since you have to vote for someone, I guess this makes sense the more I think about it.

I haven't encountered any in this game. I can't really think of anything that would show if someone had VOLUNTEERED or not -- a seer wouldn't tell you if someone had volunteered or not, it would just tell you if someone is bad, which is related but a distinct issue.

Let's not lie to ourselves. This is still Werewolf. Most of the posts in this thread are going to be trying to probe for unknown information right now, because I'm pretty certain none of us really know anything. I sure as heck don't. I'm not really going to get on blade for trying to learn something because I think we could all use more knowledge right now.

Yes, I agree. But I've been very straightforward with my questions and theories today (and last night). I'm not trying to figure out anybody's tribal strategy.
KWhit
02-07-2007, 10:46 AM
I think it is still important to share information and wolf theories with each other in this thread. If we only talk overall game strategy in our individual tribal threads, we'll lose a lot. Theories build on themselves, and without talking some of this stuff through as a big group, the wolves will pick us apart.

Barkeep is gone for a bit I think. But I am pretty sure I know why Ntn's counted. Ntn did not vote early, was not a second voter for his team and bolded/colored his vote.
Ntn's vote was for the 10:30 vote. So it went through and was counted. Howard got 0 points for it though since it was the 4th place vote.
Howard's 12:00 vote did not count though since they had two voters (Path & Marathoner) so that vote got DQ from both of them.

It takes me longer to color a paragraph than to type the entire paragraph out! I guess I should learn the message board codes to do it, but I'm too lazy.
Or use the WYSIWYG editor, and then it's one or two clicks to change color and the color sticks for your whole post.

There's no way for me, at all, to color this post while I'm at work...or to format it at all.
Not true. Use the vb tags. [ color="red" ] and [ /color ] (without spaces by the brackets) to color, [ b ] and [ /b ] to bold/unbold.

I'd like to note that 1 I'm still at work and 2 tyrith has been in my thread for the last 7 minutes.
Now he leaves. Busted, I hope he fries.
VB tags don't work here at work for some reason Wednesday. I'm getting run time errors before I can even post.
Mr. Wednesday

That's really odd. I can't think of any reason why just posting the tags wouldn't go through.
I have to click through about 8 run time errors while at work to post. Good news is I hope to be home in 3 hours time.

1) Have I _EVER_ done anything to make it seem like I would cheat?
2) Do you think I would be so STUPID as to do such a thing?
3) How DARE you make such a claim when you admit you are having REPEATED FLAGRANT ERRORS! For all I know you accidentally came on to OUR thread and have been watching US!
Screw you AE, screw you.

I know what happened. No, I am not posting it here, because AE will just curse at me more. I'm done with WW. For those of you who have nice, fun to play with, it was good talking to you. For AE, SackAttack, and everyone who has spent the last two games deciding to slaughter my character....well, I hope you learn to grow sometime. I know I have to, that's why I'm leaving.
That's the thing tyrith, nearly everyone here does know what type of person I am. Get the hell out.

I already dropped from the game in a PM previous to that. You have no idea how upset I am now; my hands are shaking quite severely. However, mentally I have managed to recover mostly, and I'm not going to get into a discussion about the merits of various arguments about people's lives, no matter how much I think it'd be interesting.

You have 2 people claiming to have seen you in the thread, one says you went in twice, and your saying you were never there. Its 2v1, and i trust one of those 2 in most matters. If ardent is lying, it will be the first time ive seen it(for not "hes a wolf" reasons)

I think thats the issue...we all know each other(as well as you can on this board), i talk with both on AIM, and i think we know what kind of characters the others have. First of all, he wouldnt have found me cheating, and secondly if he had seen me in his thread(the only way to do that would be to enter it i believe), it would have been because of a wrong click and i would have announced it. A few players have had it happen, but hes attacking you becuase your saying you were never there, not just mistakenly clicked in, and you did immediately attacking his mental aptitutude and morality. Oh and by the way, I think AE has a lot of shit going on in real life that is not disclosed on this board. AE and I got into a tassel in the last game and I saw him rip into someone on the main board as well. It seems he on a short leash right now and that is probably contributing to that. Yeah, I probably sohuldn't have been doing that either, but it wasn't anything I really considered beyond the metagaming that had been occuring already, and I love statistics. In this game, where the GM said only deal with the common thread and your thread. Dont look it, dont read, dont do anything with other threads. If you want to post-count your tribal thread, or the common...feel free. But post-counting the threads you have explicit orders not to mess with? Very Important
This game will take place over multiple threads. There will be a common thread that all players can post in, as well as threads for each specific tribe. Players will be honor bound to only check the threads that they are supposed to look at. I am placing my faith in my fellow players agreeing not to cheat. I am basing this game off of games on another board which have worked well and am hopeful that building off of the Ethics thread that people will abide by this rule in this game.

The losing teams have to vote off one of their own...we had to do it yesterday. You can imagine that the wolves might wish to dicate which teams had to vote off their own, and which teams got immunity from wolf attacks(and a great reason why they werent night killed). Its fairly simple, winning/losing challenges will be a great key for the wolves.

Reading the thread now, but this is the correct reason for why ntn's vote counted individually (though netting his team 0 points) and GE's did not count at all.

All fair enough. It is indeed something outside of the traditional WW mainstream. I tried to come up with a variety of different challenges that go in different directions. Some are obviously going to be more successful than others. It was an experiment and when everything's been done at the end, I'll be very interested to hear if it was a success or failure.

Ok breaking out my Forum Mod color. If someone had asked me, "Is it alright if I check out the post count in another thread, I'd have thought about it and likely said OK. I don't think ANY of us knew that would show someone as in the thread itself.
So then we have a situation where
AE knows, correctly, that Tyrith is in a thread. AE, being AE, doesn't hold back and comes out blasting.
Tyrith finds himself suddenly faced with being accused of doing the one thing that everyone had agreed, not just me but several of the other players, was completely wrong. Tyrith knows he didn't cheat and is facing AE's statement somewhat bewildered, and probably a little defensively.
I'll say right now I don't like it when players go after each other personally. Clearly that happened here. I thank Tyrith for apologizing for his mistake and his reaction. I want to talk with Tyrith and AE a little via-PM before posting anything else. I do think that this serves as an important reminder to all about not letting the game get personal. Intense is great and why we play and keeping it in check is always a battle.

How would you act if someone pretty much came out and decided that you should for burn for something you had no idea you had remotely come near doing?
It's not like you didn't know you were viewing the post count. You should have manned up right away instead of getting all defensive.
I'm not saying your reaction is completely crazy, I'm just saying that I know AE a lot better than I know you, and that counts for something.

I didn't know that the post count would have caused that :P I bet most of the people in this game wouldn't have realized it, either. That's why I didn't immediately fess up -- in fact, if I had known that I never would have been looking at post counts.
