Answers to my questions from KWhit

Yes, J23 can heal me prior if I am the one that goes

We don't know whether or not he can cast from the sideline

We assume that we'll be able to drink health potions mid-battle (interesting answer)

KWhit

J23 is now level 6.

hoopsguy
04-21-2010, 09:20 PM
OK, lets see what spell options J23 has before this battle. If he is able to pick up some kind of defensive spell or a summon monster then maybe it makes sense to throw him in there.

I want to have all the available info in order to figure out which pawn to sacrifice.

KWhit
04-21-2010, 09:26 PM
J23:

Level 6 (pick 1 additional):
You may choose one additional spell from the following list:
Heal, Magic Missile, Detect Magic, Light, Read Magic, Mage Armor, Fear, Sleep, Web, Identify, Cure Poison, Summon Monster, Protection From Arrows, Fireball, Remove Curse, Dispel Magic

You may choose a spell you already possess which will allow you to cast it 2x per room/combat instead of once.

PurdueBrad

I'm going to be out pretty soon but if I am the one you decide to send, please send these instructions:

J23 casts heal on PB
J23 or Hoops passes PB 1 health potion
Hoops passes PB cursed necklace
PB hopes to put cursed necklace on his opponent
PB ATTACKS!!!

PurdueBrad
04-21-2010, 09:36 PM
HEY, if J23 takes the remove curse magic, do you think the necklace would do the opposite, add hit points to the wearer?

hoopsguy
04-21-2010, 10:00 PM
We've got until noon tomorrow, so I want J23 to be around for discussion on this.

I'm thinking either fireball or summon monster would be good options for him to take if he wants to go on the offensive. A 1-2 punch of sleep/fireball seems like it would make life hard on a number of foes.

J23
04-21-2010, 11:05 PM
I'm here, though probably not for too long.

I think I'll be taking fireball of those spells. The Sleep/Fireball combo immediately comes to mind, but beyond that, it's a new damage spell that is avaliable now that wasn't last level, leading me to think that it may be more potent. The remove curse question is interesting, but assuming that it just becomes useless rather than magical in a good way, I don't know that I'll bother w/ that spell for now.

Another interesting spell would be dispel magic, but I might hold off another level for that one and hope we don't come across a need for it.

PurdueBrad
04-22-2010, 06:37 AM
Good call on going fireball, I think that definitely helps to make you into more of a weapon.

PurdueBrad
04-22-2010, 06:57 AM
We've got until noon tomorrow

Did KWhit say this? Because this write-up explicitly said I'll run it as soon as you get it to me. I actually assumed that his goal was for us to put it in early and then we may have a post-battle choice due by noon.

hoopsguy
04-22-2010, 07:12 AM
I guess not - lets go ahead and put the order in to have J23 with fireball + item pass head into battle.

hoopsguy
04-22-2010, 07:14 AM
Dola - lets get that order rolling now in the event that KWhit can process it faster.

I was expecting to get more of a "yes, I'm game" response from J23 to go in but frankly it doesn't matter to me. I'll order my puppet to go wherever it pleases me most and at this time I want him throwing fireballs at enemies.

I'll even pass him "my precious" to aid in the battle with the understanding that I receive it back at the conclusion of the fight. Failure to comply will result in a very, very slit throat.

PurdueBrad
04-22-2010, 07:14 AM
I'll pass him the health potion I have, you sending one too?

PurdueBrad
04-22-2010, 07:16 AM
Alright, so order will be:

J23 gets fireball spell
J23 casts heal on PB (HEY, if he dies in there, I want one)
PB passes health potion
Hoops passes health potion and strength ring
J23 attacks

PurdueBrad
04-22-2010, 07:16 AM
Is that right?

J23
04-22-2010, 08:18 AM
I don't want to cast a heal spell before I enter the cage if it will cut into the number I can cast in the cage.

EagleFan

I think you should teach PB a lesson, cast fireball on him instead of heal... :)

Cue up Alan Parson Project's "Sirius (Eye in the Sky)"

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now, introducing your 2010 Killian's Killers. Entering the arena, the level 6, the willing, killing, and able, the MAGE IN THE MIDDLE, J23!!!!!

And the fans go crazy as the laser show continues, the fog machines pump smoke, and the bass pounds away at everyone's ear drums.

J23
04-22-2010, 09:02 AM
I don't need a fancy light show to put on a show.

Bring it on.

KWhit
04-22-2010, 11:05 AM
As each of you waits for battle, the DJ comes on the screen with a message:

"Good luck to you today. I'd hate to have a team short handed because one of you died in the arena. We saw what that did to the Yeasty Beasties."

J23 is escorted to the middle of the arena. And then you hear a horrible snorting sound.

KWhit
04-22-2010, 11:07 AM
A towering Minotaur strides into the arena. He carries a large battleaxe and... Is that a health potion?

"I am Balaghash! You will not make it past me."

The crowd loves it.

And then you attack.

Just one healing potion left for J23. He gambles and doesn't use it yet.

KWhit
04-22-2010, 12:01 PM
Bah, why wouldn't I use the healing potion!

Judgement call on my part.

You wouldn't have gotten full use out of the potion, and the only thing that could have killed you was a critical hit by Bal (and him doing near max damage on his damage roll). The odds were very long against that. Of course that's what happened.

Frankly, you needed every last HP out of that potion to be able to defeat him so I decided that you would wait to take it. Sorry dude.

We have 480 gold. Right off the bat, we've got to take all 4 health potions, leaving us 380.

Thoughts beyond that? Rapier is either Hoops or I (and I'm guessing Hoops). The two unidentified items are tempting since our buddy can read the magic (we could buy both). Hoops could use the +1 dagger. Everything else is just a bit out of reach.

If you're up for gambling, I would say:
4 potions of health
the 2 +1 daggers
the unidentified ring

PurdueBrad

Not a big deal. I'm surprised to see someone defeated the minotaur honestly given that I was tied w/ the highest lvl player out there, and had 2 healing spells as well as 2 healing potions at my disposal.

I guess there are mechanics behind the scenes that I don't get as far as the classes go or something along those lines.

This plan works for me - ring to J23, potions split among us with extra to PB. Daggers to me.

Room 12:

You enter a small utility room - bare cinderblock walls, a table in the center. On the table has been built a makeshift rack - as in the torture device. And strapped to it is a grey bearded elf.

Above the elf stands a tall man wearing an executioner's hood.

They both turn to look at you when you enter, surprised to see you.

The elf's eyes light up. "Help me!" he says.

The executioner says, "What? I thought the DJ was diverting you guys through corridor B. Ah, well. Go on through if you must. Don't mind this coward!"

"I'm not a coward! I just ran away from a completely unwinnable combat in the last Crawl! That makes sense actually. I was looking out for the DJ's investment in me."

"Yeah, right! Seriously, guys. Good luck in the Crawl. I'll be done with this guy soon."

The elf pleads with you. "Please help me! Get me out of this mess and I can help you win. I know where all the secret passages are! And which direction is fastest!"

Your choices:

Attack the Executioner
Slit the Elf's throat
Pass on through the room

PurdueBrad
04-22-2010, 09:10 PM
As for the Ring of Protection, I would say (and sorry Hoops), it should probably be me or J23. J23 because he has a lower number of hit points or me because I stand in front of you guys.

Evil, evil, evil me says slit the guy's throat. I don't see much of a reward in that though, beyond just being evil.

If we want to attack the Executioner, I'm up for it. Reward there is whatever the elf knows.

I don't love bypassing everything though. I guess I lean fighting the Executioner.

hoopsguy
04-22-2010, 09:11 PM
Slit the elf's throat = evil, might get Executioner attacking us as well. Small chance that we get a reward from Executioner or DJ.

Attack Executioner = get secret passages with a win. If the Wang's get this one it is pretty obvious they will make this pick.

Pass on through = focus on winning race.

I don't think we can, in good consciousness, attack the executioner. If there was an option to slaughter them both then maybe but that isn't spelled out for us. So we can take the speedy route or the higher risk/reward.

PurdueBrad
04-22-2010, 09:12 PM
Plus the XP of kicking the Executioner's ass might be nice.

Poli

You're not helping the elf...you're helping yourselves, fool. Of course you can backstab that foolish elf later...but use the pitiful thing to your benefit while you can. Besides you're jacking up the Crawl while you're at it, and we all know that has to just be plain evil.

PurdueBrad
04-23-2010, 08:12 AM
If the elf is being killed for "justice", wouldn't upsetting that be the evil thing to do? We then screw over the DJ, the executioner, and the balance of the game to get cheat info from the Elf. Besides, maybe we can kill the little bastard afterwards.

hoopsguy
04-23-2010, 10:21 AM
I'm thinking killing someone helpless is about the most evil thing we can do. But I'll go with the will of the group on this one - if we can parlay a "kill them all" and get needed info that would be really fabulous.

PurdueBrad

I just sent in a last minute order of: Kill the executioner IF we can get the info from the elf and then kill him.

3 more kills - just another day at the office.

Now for the elf ...

KWhit
04-23-2010, 11:51 AM
The elf thanks you over and over again.

But you stop him short.

"Tell us what we need to know to get through the Crawl quickly!" you say.

"I can't just TELL you. I have to SHOW you. You must take me with you!" he says, still tied to the rack.

You see an open door before you. Do you kill the elf and move on without him or take him with you into the next room?

Let me know asap, and I'll give you the next room writeup.

PurdueBrad

ARE WE BETWEEN COMBAT ROUNDS BEFORE WE CHALLENGE THE ELF? IF SO, J23 would probably like to cast a heal spell on our two lowest fighters (if needed)

ALSO, SINCE COMBAT ENDED, WILL HE GET HIS SPELLS BACK FOR THE NEXT BATTLE?

KWhit

Lucky Room #13!

A blackjack game is going on. An unruly, drunk dwarf sits at the table. A large pile of gold sits in front of him. Underneath his chair is a small locked box.

On the other side of the table is the dealer, also with stacks of gold in front of him. He greets you and asks if you want to play a couple of hands.

"I know you're in a rush, but I deal really fast. It won't take much time." he says. "I like your elf-dog, by the way."

The dwarf scowls at you. "These assholes don't look like they can play cards anyway."

The dwarf is so drunk, you imagine that the specialist could steal the box if one of you sits down to play a few hands. And you might win a little something while you're at it. He gives you a wink.

Your fans watch you through cameras mounted on the walls. You can see them in TV monitors. They encourage you to play some hands.

The elf says, "I love this game! And I'm excellent at it! Untie me so I can play a few hands! Seriously! I'll win you some gold, I promise!"

Choices:
Pass on through.
Play a few hands, but don't try to steal the box.
Play a few hands, and try to steal the box from the dwarf.
Let the elf play a few hands, but don't steal the box.
Let the elf play a few hands while you try to steal the box.
Attack the Dwarf.
Attack the Dealer.
Try to kill everything in the room and take all the loot you can find.

I don't intend on letting the dog off the leash to play cards. I'm thinking that I could play a couple hands while Hoops steals the Dwarf's stuff, but I'm cautious about Hoops ending up in a fight with another munchkin.... he's got a bad track record with them.

PurdueBrad

Somebody should play, I can get Hoops' back if he gets in a fight with short stack.

PurdueBrad
04-23-2010, 12:45 PM
The other option would be to just slide on through. I'm thinking this might be a similar situation to last time, where the Executioner got back-up. I bet the dealer gets back-up, even if he says we're robbing the drunk guy. We could save a lot of time if we pass through.

Thoughts?

J23
04-23-2010, 12:57 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if we end up fighting more folks than just the dwarf or dealer if we were to attack one. Hopefully Hoop's bonus dex can help him be sneaky enough to come away w/ the lockbox without starting a bloodbath. Even then, we're fairly healthy....

PurdueBrad

Hey guys, I just got diagnosed with strep throat (GUH!) so I may crash out tonight but I did want to ask, is there any value in sliding past these guys? We're 8 seconds behind, which I guess isn't much, but I'm wondering if we pick up time by skating through.

hoopsguy
04-23-2010, 07:16 PM
There is value in passing, but I think there is greater value in stealing cash from the dwarf. We're healthy enough, in the event that we find a battle. And if we end up with a good haul we could afford some of the higher level equipment that we've had to pass on the last couple of times.

J23
04-23-2010, 07:17 PM
I suppose it all depends on how long this is game is going to last really.

KWhit
04-24-2010, 11:21 PM
You play a few hands of cards.

J23 actually loses 100gp to the dwarf!

While he's playing, Hoops tries to steal the box. He succeeds!

Inside the box is a small earring and 200gp. The earring appears to be magical. Maybe it will help?

Let me know if any of you wants to wear it.

You finish playing cards and move on. The dwarf gloats at beating you.

KWhit
04-24-2010, 11:29 PM

Room 14:

You enter a small room. In the center is a pedestal on which sits a crystal orb.

You totally want to take the orb, but it is connected to the pedestal. Still, you have the ability to use the it to your advantage.

Your choices:

Spy on another team (indicate which team you wish to view).
View the upcoming room.
See how many rooms are left before the finish line.
Ignore the orb and continue through the room as quickly as possible.

We need to cast the identify spell on the earring and then I would say figure out how many rooms are left. That or look ahead.

PB

hoopsguy
04-25-2010, 12:26 AM
Yep, remaining rooms is critical for end-game strategy.

I'm an amazing thief.

If the elf doesn't provide value in the next room I want to bleed him out. He is devaluing my rope minute by minute.

J23
04-25-2010, 10:11 AM
I agree we should see how many rooms are left. I also agree on killing off the elf if he isn't providing any value. There's no reason to let it get healthy enough to put up a fight.

I cast identify on the earring to see what my new earring will do for me!

KWhit
04-26-2010, 11:02 AM
J23 casts Identify and learns that the earring gives a bonus to Intelligence! This will benefit J23's spellcasting ability, so I equipped it on him.

Then you approach the orb to find out the remaining rooms. But the elf stops you. "No need for that. It will take too long. We only have a few rooms left. They sometimes change the layout of the last couple of rooms depending on how masochistic the DJ is, but usually there are about 20 rooms in this Crawl. Let's keep moving."

Do you still want to use the orb, or just keep moving through the Crawl?

PurdueBrad
04-26-2010, 11:05 AM
Hmmm, I'm up for moving as the Elf has a shot to prove his worth.

KWhit

Oh, and let me know as soon as you guys reach a decision and then I'll post the next room.

hoopsguy
04-26-2010, 11:44 AM
PB, if you want to trust the elf so be it.

I'm more of a "prove, then trust" sort. If we trust him then that suggests we leave him around for at least one more room.

J23
04-26-2010, 12:05 PM
If I was to have taken a guess before getting our result, 20 was the number I would have picked. It seems a very reasonable amount, and since we're in room 14 now, I'm almost inclined to just move ahead and save some time.

J23
04-26-2010, 12:08 PM
Hmmm, I'm up for moving as the Elf has a shot to prove his worth.

We can't prove anything about what the elf is saying until we reach the end of the crawl. This could very well be a desperate attempt to not be killed, knowing that he's near the end of his leash (ha!).

As I said above, I think it's a very reasonable number, and combined w/ my gut instinct, I'm inclined to believe that number for now.

PurdueBrad
04-26-2010, 12:29 PM

KWhit
04-26-2010, 12:59 PM
You tell the elf to shut up and approach the orb anyway. J23 carefully places his hands on it and closes his eyes. You see a faint image in the orb of a cloaked woman. Her skin is tight and grey. J23 mouths his question to her.

You see her nod and reply.

She explains that she cannot see the exact number of remaining rooms; however, there are approximately 20 rooms total in the Crawl.

"Told you." says the elf-dog.

KWhit
04-26-2010, 01:02 PM
Room 15:

You move on into the next room.

This room is empty save for a door across from you.

You inspect the door but find no handle. However, there is a small hole in the middle of it underneath the following inscription:

"Coax the door open with your sharp wit and magical tongue."

What do you do?

Let me know by 9pm tonight.

hoopsguy
04-26-2010, 01:12 PM
If the elf is magical I'm all for killing him and shoving his tongue/brains into the hole in the middle.

Any thoughts/ideas about the next room? I'm guessing a find magic spell?

PurdueBrad
04-26-2010, 01:44 PM
Otherwise, I guess it could be like Saw and the key is in the Elf's tongue.

J23
04-26-2010, 02:09 PM
Perhaps the DJ doesn't want the elf giving us info on the dungeon. Cutting out his tongue would certainly hamper that plan.

KWhit
04-26-2010, 02:17 PM
Well that sucks. I guess we got delayed for not coming to a decision quickly on whether to trust the elf or not.

Crap.

My bad. I got a PM from a different team about this room and thought it was from you guys. I will not penalize you the time it would take to use the orb as it looked like you all would have chosen to just keep moving on.

Sorry. But at least now you know the elf was telling the truth!

PurdueBrad
04-26-2010, 03:38 PM
I'll need you guys to submit tonight as I still have to give a statement "downtown" (hehe) and then have Opening Day of co-ed softball.

J23
04-26-2010, 06:48 PM
I'm fine with cutting out the elf's tongue and putting it through the slot in the door. Hoops, you can put one of those magical daggers to work. Let's take the time to explain to the dog...er...elf that should he live through this, he had better continue to prove useful or his lack of tongue will be the least of his worries.

Thoughts?

hoopsguy
04-26-2010, 07:05 PM
J23, I'm going to make the order a little more nuanced than this but that will be the gist of it.

J23
04-26-2010, 07:08 PM
sounds fine to me.

KWhit
04-26-2010, 08:40 PM
You ask the elf about the door. He says, "Oh yes. I know all about this one."

"Well… I used to know all about it… Can't remember the answer right now. That's unfortunate."

You slam his face into the door, sticking his tongue into the opening.

"Gi 'member 'ow."

"WHAT?" You pull his face back.

"I said, I remember now. The 'sharp' part is important. I think you have to use a sword or dagger?"

So Hoops pokes the end of his dagger into the hole. Nothing happens.

"Oh! And then 'magical tongue' is a spell. Cast a spell on it!"

J23 casts detect magic on the door, which immediately glows. And then opens.

The elf gives a cry of joy.

"Let me go! Please! See how much I helped you?"

J23
04-26-2010, 08:42 PM
I thought our solution was much more creative than the DJ's. Oh well, we still have a pet.

KWhit
04-26-2010, 08:48 PM
I thought our solution was much more creative than the DJ's. Oh well, we still have a pet.

True. But the magical lock was not designed to open by inserting a cut off tongue. What was the DJ supposed to do when creating the Crawl - assume that you would have a pet elf whose tongue you could remove at the earliest opportunity?

He's twisted, but that's just crazy!

hoopsguy
04-26-2010, 08:54 PM
If we didn't have a pet elf we would have used J23's tongue. I'm sure he would have sacrificed it for the good of the team.

KWhit
04-26-2010, 08:59 PM
You move through the door and into a short hallway that ends in another door. The door is locked. You hear movement on the other side of it, and realize that you may be in for a battle.

Let me know if you wish to cast spells or take any other action before picking the lock and moving into the next room.

I'll process that at noon tomorrow.

I would think the latter two you mention or possibly Improved Healing given the amount of damage PB takes when we use him as a pin cushion for sharp enemy objects.

PB applies poison to his blade.

Room 16:

You pick the lock and open the door.

Inside is a large dimly lit smoky room. The room is made of rough rock - it's barely a room at all, closer to a cavern.

You smell burning flesh, but can't make out much beyond a smoky haze in front of you.

And that's when you hear a shrieking sound and are confronted by:

2 Winged Harpies.

They seem to call out in their unnatural language, and they are joined by:

2 Spined Devils.

They attack.

The harpies begin by singing their Alluring Song. They are trying to charm you!

J23 is charmed!
PB resists
hoops is charmed!

The Spined Devils hang back and shoot poison spines at you.

They both miss.

You find a chest in the room. Unlocking it reveals a book that appears to be magic. Let me know if you want to open it and read from it. In addition, tossed about the room are 3 healing potions and a total of 300gp.

Alright fellas, we're up to 745 gold and 6 healing potions, not bad. Although I anticipate some very tough fights ahead.

J23 you'll need to cast an identify spell on that book, I hope you'll learn a new spell from it or something.

I'm feeling pretty confident as of now.

PurdueBrad
04-27-2010, 12:34 PM
I would say we go for the 3 potions, to put us at 9 (3 each). That puts us 670 left. Thoughts from there? Here are my thoughts on each item:

Club of Stunning- Sounds cool and it looks like stun could be useful
Scroll of Experience- Expensive to gain a level, so probably not
Potion of Speed- Meh
Unidentified Scroll/Boots- I'm always up for a gamble here
Bracers of Lifegiving- Really expensive but my guess is that they let a player regenerate health as they lose it.

I guess I would say go 3 potions, Club of Stunning, Unidentified Scroll, Unidentified Boots, and that leaves us 170 if we need it.

I am curious your thoughts though. I'm guessing this is our last shot as our next room will be #17.

J23

Yep, I'll cast identify on the book. Hopefully we can see the result before we have to make our purchases.

I'll take the sure things rather than unidentified items at this point. And I'm higher on the Potion of Speed than PB with only a couple of rooms left. Having 2x attacks for one battle is probably a big edge, and even bigger if it has multi-uses or applies to our entire party.

745 total
-75 3 Healing Potions = 670
-300 Club of Stunning = 370
-300 Potion of Speed = 70

745 total

-300 Potion of Speed = 70

I distributed the healing potions so that you each have 3 of them.

KWhit

Room 17:

Leaving the room takes you through another long hallway. You move through it as quickly as you can, but once again, it becomes darker and darker. You slow down a bit to ensure that you don't trigger any traps.

Suddenly, PB cries out in pain. He was in the back of the party (since Hoops was looking for traps) and was critically backstabbed with a sneak attack! You get a quick look out of the corner of your eye at a Tiefling holding two black bladed short swords.

But when you all turn around, he is gone!

You wait for a moment, wondering what will happen next.

When he appears next to Hoops and attacks him! It's a hit!

He is teleporting from place to place and seems to be wearing a cloak that makes him very hard to see.

You spread out and look around to try to find him.

KWhit
04-28-2010, 11:30 AM
After 5 turns of battle, the Tiefling is only semi-hurt and J23 has had to cast 2 of his heals on the party. This is a tough battle.

J23
04-28-2010, 11:33 AM
can I cast detect magic to make him easier to track?

KWhit
04-28-2010, 11:33 AM
After 10 turns, the Tiefling is hurting, but not near death yet. You all are in okay shape, but J23 has used all his healing spells and as a group you've used 2 potions. You're not out of the woods yet.

KWhit
04-28-2010, 11:35 AM
And on the 12th turn, a dagger from Hoopsguy pierces the Tiefling's heart. He drops to the ground. Dead.

You used a total of 3 healing potions during the battle.

You search his body. 2 darkblade daggers and a blood red gem are on him.

You take them.

KWhit
04-28-2010, 11:48 AM
Room 18:

You move on into a large stone room.

There are exits apparent in this room, except the one you just came through. After a quick look, you see the following features in it.

A large yellow gem sits in the middle of the room. 2 charred skeletons lie next to it.

A large pool of water sits on the floor to the right.

A locked chest.

A painting of a pile of gold and treasure.

Please let me know what you want to do - and in what order - and by whom by 9pm tonight.

KWhit
04-28-2010, 11:56 AM

PurdueBrad
04-28-2010, 04:42 PM
Hmmm, I want to look behind the painting I think. Hoops definitely needs to try and unlock the chest. As for the skeletons and the gem and the water, fuck if I know. OHHHHH, what if we fill the flask, have J23 or Hoops OR THE ELF grab the gem and then we can throw water on them to put out the fire.

That last part is more of a joke, but my guess is that the door is behind the painting. This room could slow us down though so I am concerned.

J23
04-28-2010, 04:46 PM
I'm thinking I should cast detect magic first off.

I also thought that we should have the pet elf pick up the gem and see if he melts into some neat gooey substance. (BTW, I take it that the vendor in the prior rooms didn't want to trade for him, eh?)

J23, I would recommend 1 of 3: Improved healing again as it would then allow you to heal 4 times (twice at the old, twice at the better) or slow or confusion. My guess is that we'll be squaring off with Danny's team in that last room and those are probably some useful spells.

KWhit
04-29-2010, 07:34 AM
J23 casts improved heal on Hoops.

-----------------

Hoopsguy works on picking the lock on the chest. It takes 3 turns, but he gets it done. Inside the chest are three scrolls.

J23 takes a quick look at the scrolls - 3 scrolls of Shapechange!

----------------------

PB takes a peek behind the painting, pulling it back a bit with a finger.

As soon as he does, spikes shoot out from behind it, stabbing into him!

That hurt.

There is nothing behind the painting.

KWhit

While all of this is going on, the elf grabs the gem. Nothing happens for a moment, then elf gets a BIG smile on his face.

Then the gem pulses a searing, hellish red. You quickly put the red gem in its place, but that does nothing.

Then the elf speaks in a loud clear voice, "I wish to escape from this XCrawl."

The elf slowly begins to get shorter. A quizzical look appears on his face, then horror as he looks down and realizes that his feet have melted - they are completely gone. Then the melting moves up his shin and up to his knees. He screams in pain.

The flesh of his legs is pooling on the floor in a small puddle of goo. The elf's torso begins to melt away. He flops on the ground.

"Help me! Do something!!!"

There's nothing you can do but watch as the elf continues to melt away. Finally, there is nothing left of him but a small pool of pinkish liquid. It puddles on the floor and seeps out of the room through a small crack between two of the stones.

You hear cheering and then remember the cameras mounted in every room. The fans love blood and gore.

J23
04-29-2010, 10:53 AM
So... we're still in the same room with the same situation, less 1 elf pet.

A couple of ideas:

1) Maybe we could use the scrolls of shapechange to turn into something small enough to go through the crack that the elf seeped through.

2) Check out the large pool and see what's might be in it.
