Denver goes offensive lineman, guessing Chris Williams. But they could trade down a little with so many linemen still there.

Noop

The draft is way faster this year I wish it would have started at 12 though...

Great pickup for Denver

Atleast he stays a Bronco. Not sure if he is an elite left tackle.

Clady's a great pick for Denver.

Ryche
04-26-2008, 03:24 PM
Clady works too. Slightly surprised as I had heard the Broncos preferred Williams.

Dunleavy
04-26-2008, 03:25 PM
i dunno about Clady

st.cronin
04-26-2008, 03:27 PM
If Clady had played in the Pac 10, he might have been #1 overall. The only real knock on him was "not really challenged in college."

DeToxRox
04-26-2008, 03:27 PM
Interesting if Detroit is going try desperatley to deal down. If we take Williams or Otah, it's a waste of a pick.

Noop
04-26-2008, 03:27 PM
Baltimore is not going to draft either them. They are going to draft Brohm all of this is smoke screen. I hope Miami is able to get Brohm though...

Stewart? Bad pick.

DeToxRox
04-26-2008, 03:28 PM
I love this pick for Carolina. Stews a beast. Too bad this means Detroit gets an awful OL now.

Hm, a bit surprised the Panthers went RB.

Eaglesfan27

Interesting pick by Carolina. Stewart should be a beast as long as he can stay healthy.

If anyone is watching ESPN. They were talking about the top QBs left being Flacco or Henne. Did something happen to Brohm?

Arles

The Cards may want to move up if they want a RB. Det will prob take Mendenhall.

Louisville's defense didn't play very well last year, so he's been downgraded.

I've heard Flacco as being the number 2 QB for weeks if not months since the Senior Bowl week. Henne has risen on most boards over the last few weeks. Although some experts put Brohm over Henne.

Bad cervix?

Vanderbilt OT Chris Williams has been removed from some draft boards due to injury, according to NFL Network's Mike Mayock.
Maybe he'll slide to the Texans at No. 18 after all. Williams reportedly has a "neck and cervix" injury, although it didn't cost him any time in college.

I have thought Calais would make a great pro for some time now. You can't train up that kind of speed and explosiveness in a guy that big. He's Antonio Gates freakish athletic from what I have seen.

I think the Skins might have taken Phillips if they hadn't traded out. Might have been too hard to pass up a solid Miami S in the wake of Taylor's passing.

I'm withholding judgment until No. 17. If Clady falls to there as some project, we'll be on our way to that A grade. I'm afraid we're going to take Branden Albert if he's there -- and taking a college guard and making him a tackle isn't a good idea.

Kinda late with this but I didn't see anyone else make this point...Albert only played guard because he was a better candidate to make the move than Monroe or the other OT whose name escapes me. I'm pretty sure he could've been a great LT for any big-time program.

Even more than that. Griffin is an absolute stud on the other side, and I think by the end of the season, the freshman Griffin was getting more double team coverage from opponents than Jackson (above and beyond Ellis, who of course, was always the first D-lien guy opponents gameplanned for).

I don't get it. Why draft a 1st round QB? Get a decent vet reserve, and draft a guy like Booty in the 3rd or 4th round. Give Rodgers a chance before putting this much pressure on him.

Packers will do one of four things at 30:

1. Trade down (30% chance)
2. Take CB Talib or Flowers (30% chance)
3. Take QB Brohm (20% chance)
4. Take OL Sam Baker (20% chance)

To be honest, I'd be fine with any of these. I really like Cason, so I wouldn't mind them trading down 4-5 spots and still landing him. I also like Reggie Smith, who should be there when their cleveland pick comes up. For the first time in a while, we don't *NEED* a starter at any spot, so Ted should go BPA or trade down.
Nice to get one right ;)

GB moves down 6 spots and gets an early 4th for their troubles. Solid move.

My objection to Keller is really more about value than his quality as a player or an athlete. He does seem to be a freakish talent. But like interior linemen, you generally have to be pretty damn good across the board to be a TE and get drafted in the first round, and I didn't hear any of the experts say anyone here was on the level of a Shockey or Davis or even Marcedes Lewis.

Me too my friend, me too. But this guy is a beast. I think they'd love to have a real threat at TE for Clemens or Pennington to throw to.

A good TE is somehting the Jets will need with shorter-armed QBs, assuming they stick that way. In that way, Keller is a good pick. But I thought they were looking to get longer in the passing game, maybe starting with picking a Brohm or a Henne or Booty. Of course, they have had a couple opportunities so far and haven't done that.
