Icon3 I want a next-gen SSX game, who's with me?

I remember playing SSX Tricky and SSX 3 on PS2 and those games were a blast to play. With the Shaun White snowboarding games and the Stoked games being made these days (to slightly above average reviews at best) why hasn't EA come out with an SSX game in the past several years? Surely the SSX name still has some value for gamers.

It's seems with the Winter Olympics coming up, it would be an especially good time to have an new SSX ready for the shelves this year. For that matter I miss the Amped Snowboarding series that started as a Microsoft game. I loved the first 2 Amped games and recently found Amped 3 for $7 used at Gamestop. 2K now owns the Amped name (and engine I assume). I'd love to see an Amped 4, but I realize that isn't as likely as a new SSX.

These games were excellent fun for having friends over and just killing time. Now with PSN and XBL integration in every game, it seems like EA is really missing the boat on a new SSX market.

You could easily have a persistent co-op or versus mode in SSX that you could drop in or out of anytime as well as time trials and most 'trick points' leader boards. You would be one click away from jumping on the huge online mountain with your buddies at any time and could even form "Teams" or something to ride with your buddies. Combine that with a decent single player experience with real world sponsors, some huge mountains with well placed ramps etc, a good soundtrack, and some licensed snowboarding gear and, atleast to me, you have a profitable formula.

They could even sell some new DLC mountain ranges and avatar items post release if they are worried about long term profit.

Is it me, or is there a huge hole (and opportunity) in the 2010 gaming market to make a next-gen SSX game?

I could see that. I honestly have been considering getting a snowboarding or skateboarding game, (not to mash genres together like that, but just trying to make my point....) and I just don't see anything that I really want. The snowboarding game I played the most in my day was 1080 on the N64, and I really enjoyed that. I would definitely consider a purchase for a decently reviewed SSX game.

I love SSX and can't believe there hasn't been a next-gen version.

Even the Wii version was good!

I'd play a new SSX. I'd be more psyched if the other series you brought up, Amped, came out with a new game though. And without Xbox exclusivity so I could actually play it.

Shaun White Snowboarding just doesn't cut it as far as current snowboarding games go.

I agree...Amped 2 was cool on Xbox, and SSX was always fun.

I'd like a new somewhat arcade-like snowboarding game. I've been shocked that EA hasn't dropped a new SSX with stellar graphics.

I would love to see this, I remember playing SSX when it first came out, then play SSX tricky and those were a blast. I never played the Wii version but it looked like fun
