...from many different sources, are you still as "gung-ho" about this game?

I was adamant on picking this game up but some things make me want to lean towards a rental now first.

I'm sure there are others who didn't want to play a game so close to NFL 2k5 and want major evolution in the game...

I'm still excited to play it... but most impressions aren't giving me the "must-buy" feeling I had prior to their reports.

Anyone else thinking the same?

Same here, except that I'm not sure I can say I'm excited to play any more. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm as curious about Madden's improvements and hoping they come through as I am anxious to play AP Football. At this point it seems that both games are missing an equal number of things that I'm looking for, where as from 2004-2006 it was simply a formality to test Madden before buying 2K.

It will be a "game time decision" for me this year. Unless either game surprises me, I could go without a football game. It won't be the first time.

I will buy APF for sure. It will probably have the best gameplay and online experience. If Madden gets raves ill buy that too.

I'll be there day 1. But I also recognize I'm in a niche' group.

To me, the present day NFL is boring by comparison to the 70s, 80s, and 90s- so I have a huge appreciation for these players, and prefer classic players to today's players anyway (though I'd rather be playing with year-accurate teams, like the 1978 Steelers, but such is not the case.

Still- this product is right up my alley. I could give two craps less about Reggie Bush, Tony Romo and Terrell Owens by comparison to Christian Okoye, Joe Montana and Fred Biletnikoff.

Secondly- online seasons are important to me. Although- that took a bit of a hit when Aholbert told us that there's no fantasy draft in online seasons, so the same player can exist on multiple teams. Granted, this can be managed on th back end by the commissioner with an organized draft offline, but its still kinda puzzling.

But I'm down for this game.

After the impressions, because its not feature rich and it doesn't have the customization I was expecting, it went from a must buy to I'll buy to support them for their effort and hoping we get another game. Every impression I've read or heard(podcast) has stated without question that the gameplay is pretty friggin good. So in my heart of hearts its a rental, but since I ball with several friends, this will make for great multiplayer game.


And whereelse can you get Sig moves for legends? I'm an old head and this is right up their with my youth with some of these players except they don't have any of my beloved Steelers(70's).

gameplay is and will always be #1 on my list, and all counts point to a solid,solid gamyplaying experience. i have yet to hear anything negative about the gameplay so this game remains a must buy.
