Was trying an assorment of different players on D that were not golds and these guys are the best to me

1. Chuch Bednarik - Silver

Easily the best linebacker in the game. Excellent on pass coverage, outstanding ball pursuit, great at run coverage, has great acceleration (probably due to loose ball magnet), has great stamina and does not get tired (stamina bounus), and is very consistent (Probably due to the durability).

Weakness - His weakness is he is so aggressive and reckless that he will overpursue and take himself out of the play. Also he is an average tackler, runners break his tackles often.

He is an OLB but if you move him to ILB in a 3-4 or MLB in a 4-3, he is even more effective.

2. Dexter Manley - Bronze

The most devastating pass rusher in the game. He has speed and strength (bonuses of speed and strength), can use power to rush you and finesse (bull rush and swim). Can draw double teams and still find a way through. Probably the best pass rusher in the game hands down. Plus he can chase down runners and take part in stopping the run as well. Best defensive lineman you can get.

Weakness - Can be pushed around by bigger players. Plus he is a no show sometimes.

He is a DE but if you put him at DT he is a monster. Until teams double team him and gets pushed around.

3. Joey Browner - Silver

As safeties go he can pretty much do it all. Make tackles, intercept the ball, pass coverage, run coverage and the strength to take on blockers.

Weakness - limited speed.

Haven't tried him at Inside Linebacker but I bet he could own that portion of the field if he did.

4. Lem Barney - Silver

Speed and pass coverage makes him very good when shutting down one side of the field.

One of his big weaknesses is consistency.

Haven't tried him at Safety but imagine the picks he would get there.

for me it has been nolan cromwell DB, bryce paup LB, the fridge DT and leslie oneal DE.

i am going to try bednarik now though.

I'll second Bednarik. That guy is a flat-out beast. He doesn't miss tackles, he can cover, and he's just always around the ball. He did play MLB some as well, so I think using him there is legit.

Another guy that's like that is George Macafee, but nobody rolls with him because he doesn't have the attribute list--he's always around the ball and doesn't miss tackles either, despite his size.

Eric Turner and Van Pelt. They both tackle everybody and Turner has a nose for the ball.
