Team suggestions wanted -- WRs and Defense

All,

Currently working on a squad that looks as follows:

G-Ditka
G-Larry Little
S-Matt Snell
B-Steve Grogan

I'm looking to add either one silver receiver (preferably) or two bronzes, and then build a quantity over quality defense with one/two silvers and four/five bronzes.

Any suggestions for a silver WR and the D?

I'm thinking maybe Manyard or Lenny Moore for recievers, and Bethea on D.

I guess it depends on what style of offense you run. Grogan doesn't have the strongest arm, so you might want to go with a possession guy. Moore is good on short stuff, and he can break some tackles. I'm a big fan of Andre Reed as well.

first, I dont know if Id ever have a gold lineman, only because they have such less impact than skill positions in this game

for a silver wr, Id go with maynard or reed

for a bronze receiver Id take moore

Charlie Taylor is a good choice for WR (I believe he's a silver), as is Andre Reed.

Bronze WR that works well for me is Wesley Walker.

As for defensive bronze guys, I like linemen like Jim Marshall or Leonard Marshall.

I'm definitely going to try John Jefferson and Charley Taylor. I like Manyard, but he's a little inconsistent for me. I also like being able to use Lenny Moore as a halfback -- he's really good, try it! -- with Snell sliding over to blocking fullback.

Walker is great, good call.

In terms of defense, can anyone suggest a one silver/five bronze or two silver/three bronze lineup?

Also, if you've never used a gold guard with leadership, try it. It makes the run game 100x more fun -- really opens up the running playbook and makes you think about a running attack they way you think a passing attack. You scheme ways to get the guard out front, blocking-wise.

So true. Larry Little is so fun to have leading tosses and sweeps, and Grimm is a beast too, despite not having leadership. Delamulier is also good for that. The great thing about those guys is that they not only get out and lead well, they chip and then go crush guys on the second and third levels. You can really tell their targeting ability is way better than generics', and they're more consistently lethal on impact.
