All Pro Football Team Log...

Figured this would be a good idea for offline APF gamers who want to keep the game somewhat fresh. I always wondered what other gamers best legend teams looked like and what interesting combos we could come up with.

List the name, legends, uniform colors, and offensive and defensive philosophies.

Greensboro Goliaths- Navy Blue, Gold, Black

G: Willie Brown
G: Deacon Jones
S: Mel Renfro
S: Keith Millard
S: Jack Tatum
B: Clyde Simmons
B: Ken Norton, Jr.
B: Harvey Martin
B: Ken O'Brien
B: Rocket Ismail
B: Floyd Little

Offensive Philosophy: Power running game and playaction. Lots of I-Formation and Singleback sets.

Defensive Philosphy: Jones and Simmons are the OLB's in the 3-4. Lots of man coverage with Tatum over top and a generic safety played up. Used to create pressure in the backfield.

Re: All Pro Football Team Log...

G Mike Singletary- no brainer for a bears team, great middle linebacker with the signal stealer ability which i love
G Reggie White- great pass rusher, i had Derrick Thomas but he wasn't getting the job done for me so i switched it up.
S Too Tall Jones- IMO the best silver pass rusher available
S Lem Barney- take him on every team i make, best bang for your buck IMO, best cover guy available without using a Gold
S Roger Wehrli- tried this guy for the first time, pretty decent though the first game i played was vs a team with no star WR's
B Bernie Kosar- everything you can ask for in a Bronze QB, gives you the bare minimum to be affective
B William "the fridge" perry- great defensive tackle, one of the best bronze players of any position IMO
B Charlie Waters- again one of the best "bang for your buck" guys, great value in a bronze player plays the run very well
B Freeman Mcneil- took him because i'm sick of using the same Natrone Means and Christian Okoye as RB's, played well for the first game
B Bill Curry- always use him as center, makes the entire line play better with his leadership bonus
B Pete Metzelaars- one of the best TE's you can take in this game IMO, no need to use anything above a bronze on a TE when you can take this guy.

anyways, played first game against the Texas Rustlers, lost 21-16. played pretty well, gave up a few big plays, Paul Hornung killed me, as my defense is set up better vs the pass. also i missed 2 field goals, my generic wide receivers played fine and Kosar got the job done.

That team looks tough. I'm going to try playing against them if I can today.

Got another build:

Orlando Sunrays- Burnt Orange, Silver, Black

G: Jack Lambert
G: John Elway
S: Keith Jackson
S: Jerome Brown
S: Drew Pearson
B: William Perry
B: Robert Brazille
B: Leonard Marshall
B: Fred Marion
B: John Taylor
B: Ricky Sanders

Offensive Philosophy: Lots of shotgun and singleback bunch sets. Elway has is one of the best players in the game and I gave him some very capable receivers.

Defensive Philosphy: Zone coverage team who stops the run and tries to get pressure from the middle. Brown and Perry open things up for the ends to rush the passer. Very solid LB corp as well.

try pairing elway with herman moore, i love playiing that that combination Moore has very good abilities and is virtually unstoppable with Elway...

think i might take college hoops out and play with them now

Finally played against your team cubsball. Extremely tough defense to throw against if you don't have the weapons. Fortunately, I had a team of Marino, Sharpe, Ellard, and Ismail on offense. Your D-Line was still tough on me...Too Tall Jones was a monster. He had 2 sacks, Reggie had 1, and the Fridge had one. Trailed 14-7 late in the 4th. Marino then connected to Ismail on a long TD pass. After that, I forced an INT by Kosar and Marino hit Sharpe for the gamewinning score. It was a pretty awesome game.

i played with that team the other night, haven't been on here since though, its a stacked offense team, with
G Elway
G Gale Sayers
S Herman Moore
S Lem Barney
S Joey Browner
B Korey Stringer
B Bill Curry
B Steve Wisniewski
B Pete Metzelaars
B John Anderson
B Scott Studwell

team is very offensive orientated, its a primary passing offense, when Sayers is goin on the ground its unstoppable. as i said before Elway to Herman Moore is unstoppable... Browner is a beast at the Strong Safety position. just won another shootout, 41-40 vs the Miami Cyclones, OJ Simpson had almost 200 yards and 3 touchdowns against my bad rush defense, Elway had 588 yards and 5 touchdowns as well as 27 yards rushing... team is fun as hell to play with sittin at 9-2 on the year, leaves me longing for some defense though time to play with another team

Re: All Pro Football Team Log...

Used this team against the CPU on Legend, 5 min quarters, no Accel clock.... 45-6 final score. 12 sacks using 3-4 Base D without manually controlling anyone. Too Tall had 5.5 sacks.

Gold RB Earl Campbell
Gold DE Reggie White
Silver DE Too Tall Jones (use him on the QB's blind side. he had a nice ball strip near the end of the game)
Silver DT Jerome Brown
Silver ILB Jessie Tuggle
Bronze CB Terry McDaniel
Bronze QB Bernie Kosar
Bronze WR Rob Moore
Bronze WR Rocket Ismail
Bronze FS Nolan Cromwell
Bronze OLB Brad Van Pelt

Real fun team to use.
