The Comeback Story: The Legend Of William Jordan(MLB the Show 11)
STRIKE 3, and Will Jordan has done it a no-hitter for the Des Moines Tigers, the first ever no hitter in Iowa's State tournament! Will Jordan was a flame throwing righty from Iowa with a rediculous fastball, sweeping slider, and a deadly changeup. As a sophmore in high-school he led his team to the state title and was the projected to be the #1 pick when he graduated. That was until when playing a pickup game with his friends after a 92 mph fastball, his arm killed. He had professional teams's doctors look at it and he had to have Tommy John's Surgury. He missed his Junior year of baseball, but came back for his senior year. 1 problem that blazing fastball turned into a rainbow that even the worst hitters could hit. Something had to be done.
After researching long and hard he realized he couldn't get the fastball back and his 2 other pitches lost their movement. On his birthday hi dad got them tickets to a Twins game when they played the Red Sox. Wakefield was on the mound and devistated hitters with his knuckle ball so William decided he would try the knuckle. He first started throwing it in practice, but he had no control, no movement, and just flat out sucked. He read online after months of practice and realized the knuckle had to be thown harder. When he finally got a decent knuckle, baseball season was over. He went to college at Iowa and played baseball for 3 yar developing the knuckle.
In his 3rd year he started making improvement, and did so well he led Iowa to the CWS and pitched started game 3 where he pitched a complete game shutout striking out 17! The knuckle got him drfted in the 17th ound by the Red Sox, the team he saw that inspired him to throw the knuckle.
William is 21 now and 6" 3' 206 lbs. He throws his knuckle, a slider, and a sinker.
